I'm looking for some Standard Oil Company signs and signs for the gasoline sold at Standard stations. I'm modeling in the 50's and have built a little gas station which I have already put a Standard sign on it and now I need some more signs for the gas pumps etc. Can anyone help me please? Angela |

The link below was originally posted by Jahn Kanakos ("Railmus') in another thread. Other members requested that it be posted here as part of the signs collection.
Have seen many structures with old faded signs on all the great work here. Spent two weeks going through all the posts.
Just thought you might like another site for reference. Check out this site. Ghost signs of Toronto.

Make sure you use the "next" button to see them all! Can be difficult.

Thanx so very very much for all who have posted signs, and websites with more signs. I must have spent ten hours in total going through all 19 pages of this thread, and being amazed at what all you good people have made available to fellow modelers. I even managed to finally get a hang on saving images to a folder, which I so often bungled somehow. The totality of what has been so generously shared is quite overwhelming. The nostalgia and emotional content of some of those older signs chokes me up as it evokes such a more open, simpler and generally optimistic America and world, as opposed to present day anxieties. Of course, I was so very young then and the world was full of promise.
Thank you all, so glad to be amongst you. Stevie O' |

Stevie If you got the ones I had up for download there were some 1500 in all from one place. And you are right with the simpler times. It was all so much easier, Back then everyone had to get up to change the channel on the old Black and White kerosene TV's

Here is an interesting sign I found on the side of a building in Charlottetown, capitol of Prince Edward Island, in Canada's Maritime Provinces:

As you can see, I couldn't get a straight on shot of the sign because there was a power pole just to my left. So I adjusted this photo using my Paint Shop Pro perspective correction tool:

Here's another sign that is specific to Canada, where Red Rose tea is a popular brand:

The sign was painted on this white panel on a brick wall at the back of the tea firm. It has since been demolished. Glad I got it when I did.
