Hi Paul and Thanks.
No I have not seen the thread but I will do a search. BTW, While I have always liked the name Cody...mine is Dave.
Did a search and found the thread...the drawings are excellent!
While I have a lot on the table right now I may no be able to help myself and may give this a try!
Right now I am doing the Donkey for The Tin Can Bay Logging Company...it will be my rendition of the Red Stag....an all time favorite of mine.
I have just started it recently and am still on the landing area.

Could be either Chuck, it does tend to be a rather rubber scale rightly or wrongly. As for myself it's 1/24 mainly because I've a Doll's House Builder's scale rule of 1/2" to foot so no thought necessary |
There'll never be enough time to finish what I've planned!

Speaking of 1/24th scale, here's a new piece that became a "Must Build" after getting one of Thomas Yorke's sketchpad series that included a wonderful little tractor locomotive. I just happened to have an partially built Ertl farm tractor and measured everything around that. The one in T.Y.'s sketch is a little shorter (which I like) but I think the "feel" of his imaginative creation is coming through. More work has been done since this pic was taken. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for looking.............

Dave, Very nice work. As another who is modeling the waterfront I may steal a few ideas from you. Could you post a picture of the side with the open deck and tables as that caught my eye.
Did the fish start life as a button? I have one similar that I used that I bought at Jo-Ann Fabrics that was a button. |

Dave,
I'd like to make reservations for a nice dinner party on the outdoor deck overlooking the ocean.
That is the ocean, isn't it? I can see where the retreating waves have sucked the sand from the base of the piles.
Is the clapboard siding made from HD sticks too?
Very nice modeling, extremely so, since it's all scratch built and/or improvised. And welcome to this forum.

Thanks guys, The siding on the gas station is made from HD sticks. The siding on the main building of the fish house is made from pre cut sheet. All the other wood is cut from paint sticks. The "dining room" is made from wood and covered with joint compound that I thinned out. I should have used plaster, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. The're both in HO scale. |
