I can't believe that the first (and only) Gallery devoted to fences was back in October, 2008. It is high time to visit the topic once again. Many thanks to Rick for giving me the nudge.

So prototype or model, if it is a picture that contains a fence, post it here!

Fences can be great places to hang signs. (NER Convention, Albany, NY 2016)

This is a very common type of fence in Appalachia in the 30s to the 50s. Simple wire on whatever posts could be scrounged, and a 'gap' made of wood for horizontal slats. No newfangled 'flatlander' gates in that time and place!

Note no posters on the picket fence. You hardly ever see them in original photos, as a poster will come apart between the slats that way...
