Thanks Carl, Bruce, Frank & Kevin. Hopefully some update photo's soon.
Real life is slowing me down this week. Short of retirement, or winning the lottery, has anyone a cure for this?

Well, if not retirement or the lottery, the alternative is not good. So, there is no real cure!
Your project is fantastic, just incase I hadn't said it before now. [:-thumbu] |

Thanks Jerry. I'm happy with it.
Have finally had a bit of spare time. So have made the keel blocks from balsa and glued down, and painted.

And have made the caisson lock gate from styrene sheet & strips. Nothing prototypical, just industrial looking. Just need to weather it now.

have now weathered the lock gate. Used wet on wet technique, all applied using a sponge. About 6 colours used here.

In place.

Opposite end finished off with a piece of thin balsa. This end is intentionally left open to better view the U-boat.

Well here is what we've been waiting for. Finally the U-boat is positioned. I never actually intended to spend so much time on the diorama part of this build, but have really enjoyed it, and glad I did. I've certainly enjoyed trying some different weathering techniques.
