Thank you Railman. The prototype has the corner posts on it. You'll see it when I finish it and put a picture of the car against the photo.

That is another clue as to who the car operator is.

Hey Bob,

To add, which I forgot. They really aren't corner posts. The car has wood trim on the ends of the car. They aren't posts per se.

Levi,

My reaction when seeing the simulated corner posts was “good for him; he modeled exposed corner posts, which is very seldom done but should be.” I’ve seen them in period drawings—sometimes with a chamfer—and might not have been uncommon.

Sometimes corners and fascias were painted in a contrasting color, maybe indicating exposed posts.

Lots of “mights” and “maybes” in what I wrote, so a little research would be appropriate on my part.

I have use a Kadee coupler pocket top as a "centerplate" on Tahoe trucks.
