Interesting project. The window/door layout of your last photo make me think it's in fact a series of mirror-image 2-storey townhouses. The street, "XX Place, East London" is noted as being the oddest street name in London here: https://alondoninheritance.com/london-streets/xx-place-londons-strangest-street-name/ This site also confirms my guess that the building is residential, built in 1842.

Carl,

I will be following along on your new diorama too. I'm sure I will be learning something new, as I do with many of your builds.

Mike, thanks for your interest too.

Not sure I'll be showing anyone anything "new"...but it may be new to me!

Carl, just got back from our cottage, and had to see what in the Dickens, that your up too here!
Looks like you & your daughter have picked a winner for sure!
So carry on, and keep calm! You've got the best with Sgt. Bob as an advisor to help out when needed.

This looks like a challenging project, Carl. It's going to be interesting to watch it come together.

The master of fog on a layout is Fred Lagno. https://www.amazon.com/Changes-Model-Railroad-Comes-Life/dp/057807818X He's done some talks at model RR shows on how he produces and manages the fog effects.
