Hi everyone, well look what I picked up today in the mail! Rail Scale Miniatures "Whispering Falls" has finally arrived! This kit has so much stuff in it that RSM owner Dario Le Donne had to use 2 boxes to accommodate all of the materials needed to build this kit. Here are the boxes that this kit comes in.

Here is the information packed instruction manual and the "Micro Scale" Floquil colour chart- cross reference chart that come with this kit.

A look inside of the kit's manual shows how Dario at RSM walks you through each step. Providing good photos of what you are working on and how it should look.

First I dug into the larger box to see this kits contents. I could not fit everything into one shot so I took a few. This kit has a lot of wood in it, for that board on board construction of the barn.

The kit's castings, CD with colour images showing this kit from different perspectives. Different styles of roofing materials used throughout this kit, and other detailing components.

To be continued... |

This kit also includes the many templates for building the large barn and other structures.

Now the black box, holds all of the farmhouse Hydrocal wall castings, and the barn foundation castings. All perfectly packed to prevent any damage to them in shipping. Here's a look at those.

This kit also has a lighting & sound kit that you can purchase from www.ngineering.com I have ordered both kits from them, they just haven't arrived yet. I will be doing a full photo packed build on this kit, if anyone is interested in joining in with me that would be great! This really looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! I won't be starting right away, so I'll gives those that have purchased this kit some time to get ready if they want to join in with me.
Here are a couple of my favorite nighttime photos showing this kit's LED's being used to full effect!

I hope you will all join me for the country road ride!

Carl, I think it is too! A lot of work by Dario, went into producing this wonderful looking kit! The kit's manual alone was a massive undertaking!

W-H-A-T . . . you bought a kit? What happened to your line of kits?
It does look like a nice kit. Do us proud Commander. Oh shhhhhh.
Nice instructions, I remember those FSM kits with sheets of wallpaper.

Karl & Frank, thanks for your encouraging words! Frank, I'm multi-tasking, I've got a few projects on the go right now. However I love building Dario's kits, I always learn something new (the new sound effects & how to install them into this scene) will be something new for me to learn with this kit. All of the LED lighting that I add to most of my builds now, was from knowledge gained from building one of Rail Scale Miniatures previous kits. Always good to learn new tricks, to add to our modelling bag.

Wow, a kit with a book. You know you've got some work ahead of you with a book to follow along with instructions. Nice kit Greg! Looking forward to your progress. |
