Given intense pressure from the Diesel Shop , here's an image of my other two "major" motive power creations.

The larger locomotive was a challenge by the B&MRRHS Modeler's Group a few years ago-- convert the Bachmann HO Polar Express Berkshire into a B&M "Lima" under a budget... in essence the "Poor Man's T-1b." This was a kitbash with a bunch of scratchbuilding in the process, and I learned, for instance, how to make lagged pipe, which turns out well and is a lot easier than one might think at first. This also has a complete scratchbuilt cab interior, with the head end brakeman reading his green Form 19 and the white Clearance Form A in there, "just because."

The little Forney is a conversion of a brass Japanese locomotive into an HOn30 version of WW&F No. 2, an 18-ton Portland Forney. Again, another kitbash, although everything visible on the beast with the exception of the bell, the whistle and the stack has been monkeyed with in some form or another.

Both were great learning experiences, and a great deal of fun, albeit stretched out over what seemed to be eternities as Life intervened.

Apologies for the image size... my photo program apparently no longer wants me to set sizes for exports other than small, medium and large. This is Medium, and the large is "Operation not allowed." [:-bigeyes2]

Pete, that's the B&M engine that you brought to the NCR Convention in Fort Wayne 2015 correct? That was a dandy too.

Pete, that must be your wallet sized photo of your proverbial David & Goliath there.
I like the big one!

Oddly enough, the image on my screen in the photo program is almost gigantic.... [:-boggled] [:-banghead]

A "system upgrade" last year "improved" my computer capabilities by among other things, dumping all of my pre-2013 photos, including my Forney shots. [:-irked] Yes, I could drag out the camera and shoot new ones, but I just remembered that I had stashed some of them "elsewhere," and as it turns out, they are still here.

So here's a better look at Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Forney No. 2, circa 1912:

HOn30. Note the hose bibb on the front of the tank.

Nice. I wish we'd had time to shoot the T-1b on my layout the time you had it with you.
