Fred,

You have a wonderful diorama. I like the way you did those driveways, so realistic. So what's next??

Rich, I have started on an O scale version of this, from my old HO layout.

It will possibly still be "King's" and definitely salvage but not auto salvage. I don't want to have to come up with a bunch of junked vehicles. Nor do I want to junk what I do have. I will try to begin in progress shots shortly.

Thanks for asking!!

Frank, if you decide you're not using those.....

Thanks, Ted.

Well, I've decided to change the name from KING to Brammer Salvage. I already have a King hardware store. The early beginnings of this build pretty much follow suit with the build before and many others that preceded it. So I'm going to fast forward a bit >>>>>>>>>>

The window/door openings cut-out, walls braced and both sides painted Krylon Smoky Beige.

The siding is just copier paper painted, both sides, flat black. The cut into 3' wide strips, so I can hide the joints with battens later. And as you can see I've added the shakes to the upper walls, made from a roll of white oak laminate.

The windows, made from styrene strips, are primed and painted. The doors will be made from basswood. I want them installed before I add the battens.

Fred, I don't know if you followed along with the junk yard build but I spent 2 months working on it. I have often thought of going in some night and cutting it out and bringing it home and framing it.

You're off and running again Fred, and I am sure this will be another winner. Good beginning already. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks, Jerry !!

No, Frank, I believe I missed your junkyard thread. But it is worth framing. Somehow or another I guess I'm not hanging out in the right place, I only seem to catch little snippets of your work. [:-ashamed]

Thanks, Rich, I'll try not to disappoint.

No problem Fred. It's probably because I don't model one scale, era, subject . . .
