Yikes with that driveway the car-hops can't roller skate to the car.

Thanks, Mike and Frank.

The sign beneath the window says:
"NO Curb Service."

Is that the exact same red paint on the 10 year old dio? Looks good together.

Could be the same red, Carl. The package store is about 10 years old, too. I have several reds that are all pretty close.

Fred,

I agree with Michael that it fits into the corner nicely. But, where's the roller-skate girls for taking orders from the cars??

Thanks, Rich. The carhop situation was covered at the top of this page. It's a "No hop zone".

I got rid of the "S", as best I could. Of course I can't fill in all the gaps until I get all the modules in their permanent location. And I thought it needed a little more red in that corner.

Fred,

We were in 'Exit Ramp', Alabama last year, and there was an old Gulf station that was retro-restored, I've got to find those pictures. Terrific details in your modeling.

The offset in the street is good. It highlights the package goods store and also hides the abrupt end to the street.

With very little shame and plenty of malice aforethought I decided to do a rendition of this model built by the very talented Leon Clark.

I don't know if Leon built it from a prototype or not. And I'm not attempting an exact replica but it will be close enough to see where the inspiration came from.

I'm building it using black foamcore.

The front wall cut out.

I inserted 1/4" dowels on the back side to hopefully foil warping later on.

Next the wall was covered with vinyl spackling and painted flat primer white.

More to come.
