Fred, I've seen good awnings made out of teabags, before and after the tea was brewed. It's tough and has a canvas like look to it.

Good idea, Bill, but I wanted something with a pattern on it. I wasn't bout to try painting a pattern. I found something at Hobby Lobby I thought would work. It did to. Looked "ok" in real life but when I photographed it... well, I tore it down yesterday morning and started over. Resigned myself to drawing up something on the computer and printing it out. Not perfect, but "ok".

The underside of the awnings actually have a tan canvas color but it seems to have washed out in the photo. Oh, well.

Looks good Fred. I should have added to my previous post that the teabags were taped to a letter size sheet of paper and run through a printer to give them a striped pattern.
Your looks fine.

Thanks, Carl, Bill and Bob!!

I don't have any teabags but that did give me an Idea.

It's tissue (the gift wrapping kind) and pretty translucent. Not sure if I can do anything about the underside but I think I like it better enough to re-do the awnings... again.

Simply marvelous. The storefronts looked naked without them.

The awnings look great to me too Fred. They look like they do in reality, after it rains and they dry out and get rolled up and unrolled again. Natural. Good tip to file away.

Thanks, Bill and Mike !!

Ted, I wouldn't want the wrath of 'Charlie' on me.

Thanks Rich !!

Jerry, I owe a lot to Bill for his suggestion.

And they still look better in person. The bright overhead light shines through them and washes out the canvas color of the underside. Which I took extra effort to add. [:-ashamed]

Well done Fred....the 'extra effort" was worth it!

But that's what you're known for! [:-thumbu]

PS... Please don't model on the holiday if it upsets anyone...[;-xmas]
