Epic is right. A very impressive facade. The roof turned out fantastic and I like the fact that it does not contrast too much with the rest of the building.

Looks great! The contrast between the shingles and siding looks good to me.

Thanks, kebmo, Frank, Bob and Bill !!

The windows are painted and drying. Waiting on me. I've started the next roof, I figure eventually this things has to run out of roofs. It's still removeable at this point.

I'm sheathing it with 1/16 basswood. Unfortunately I foresee a trip to Hobby Lobby in my very near future. Like tomorrow.

The windows and shades are installed in the dormers but the dormers are not yet glued in. And the substructure for the hip roof is done and gutters are in place, not that they can be seen.

Getting ready to start shingling, again.

Okay, so your last comment made me go back and take another look at the photos on page one. I had it in my head that the uppermost roof wasn't shingled, but sure enough it appears to be some sort of shingles. No reason to think they'd be different than the ones on the curved portion, but they look different...they appear darker and more matte. Could just be the angle and a trick of the light. Will you use the same material or something different?

Thanks, Dave !!

Galen, I firmly believe the shingles on the upper roof are diamond shingles. So that's what I plan on doing. I'm using the same material but I will probably paint them.
