Thanks, Bob, Bill, cowboybilly, Carl, Dave, Ted and Dave !!

Dave, (no, the other Dave ), I don't know I'd call the roof perfect but I'm fairly satisfied with it. And it only took me 8-10 years to tackle it. Along with a lot of other things that scared me about this build.

Fantastic roof and dormers. Your construction makes one appreciate the complexity of the original structure and how attractive it is.

Fantastic work so far! Very impressive, considering what a dauntingly complex structure it is.

Also, I'm really enjoying watching this "dual build". Fascinating to see two highly skilled modelers tackling the same structure in different scales, and the different materials and methods employed.

Thanks, Mike and Ray !!

The dormers are painted and waiting in storage for windows.

But in the meantime, nothing else on this build is manufactured, except for styrene strips, so I decided to make my own shingles. Using construction paper, same technique as the bricks on the foundation. This isn't the final color, I don't think but a good starting point.

[:-bigeyes2]Fred, are those shingles cut 1/4 inch square? They sure look fitting. Future tenants must be getting anxious...

Thanks, Bill and Frank.

Bob, I've still got a long way to go.

Ted, actually they are 7/32 x 3/8".

Fred,
Fantastic work on your dormers and shingles. Those shingles will be a bear to complete but you can handle it I'm sure.
