That roof looks fantastic! Are you using balsa? If so, that would tend to split for me, so instead, I use Midwest sheeting. Although you are modeling ina a larger scale too.

Rich, I'm using basswood. Balsa would be too soft and fragile for this.

Bob, I expected you to take a different approach. Can't wait to see it.

My goodness, what marvelous work. Your description of the process is much appreciated, although I'm afraid the structure would be much too large for my O scale area.

Still working on dormers, particularly the roof. So far I've managed to build them without having to glue them in place.

It took me about 2 years of pondering to figure out how I'd do a mansard roof. And here you dive right in and get it perfect the first time!
