The Bachmann Baldwins are out.

The Yanks showed up at a Canadian Artillery position. Possible trading for Canadian Whiskey.

I will try to post a couple of videos to You tube them put the links here.

I finally got to put the video on youtube. Here is the loco running on an unfinished section of my layout I use to store my WW1 stuff.

I spent much of the day yesterday adding couplers to cars and reworking figure.

Here are a string on Peco v tipper cars I added couples to. The cars do not come ready to accept a coupler so I had to drill out and file a slot to insert a modified Grandt Line link and pin couplers.

Now for the figures.

There is a secret on30 society called the Mid Hudsoners. They represent some excellent modelers and are usually on the cutting edge on ON30.

Les Davis has scanned a number of them and 3d printed them for me.

These figures are going through a modification process to get them ready to be in scenes on my WW1 layout.

They will represent reporters and train crews that were not required to be in full uniform or even of age or fit.

Anything on or attached to the figures that is a color other than grey was a detail I am adding.

I used paper to represent straps, belts, fix hats and add pockets to the figures. I also converted a fire helmet to a Pickle Helmut by adding a spike and doing a little carving. Added pouches and guns from a WW2 British Figure kit.

That's a nice running loco, Larry. Do you plan to observe the Christmas truce?

There will be no fighting on Christmas. I do hope to do some work.

Looking at your soldier figures, several seem a little 'prosperous' around the waist compared to period photos.

I always have some type of photo evidence. [:-angel] Check out the Canadian Press Tour. Some of these guys were very well feed. Plus I actually know all the guys that these images were created from and I want to have some fun inserting them into some photo ops on the layout. They will not be permanent fixtures.

I hear you, though your examples appear to be two reporters and a Staff Officer minder.

This thread both inspires me and annoys me!! It inspires me that someone can be so dedicated to a subject and have the inspiration, dedication and skill to be so committed to it. It annoys me that I can't get off my fat @#$@ and put in the same effort.

I've been crook, (sick for non Australians), for the past 18 months and find getting back to modelling hard. This thread is very much a part of keeping my interest going.

BigLars thanks for the thread. Thanks for keeping my interest alive. I hope you and all the readers and troops in the trenches have a very happy and healthy festive season.
