| Great deer photo! Never had the opportunity myself. Did you by any chance use a flash? If so, that could account for the reflections in the eyes. How high a shutter speed did you use? Asking because of your comment re not using a tripod; I rarely use a tripod with my telephoto zoom lenses. My current Canon 75-300mm does have image stabilizing, but I used a non IS 100-300mm lens for many years, mostly without a tripod. Using a higher shutter speed can help to alleviate camera shake. Of cours IS is better! |

While on vacation this summer, Lela and I came across this young one on a road in the Blackfoot Reservation at the foot of the Glacier Mountains in Montana. I had to drive around as she would not move for anyone. |

Another season of baiting the local squirrels, getting them to pose for me! Placed the peanut on the chair opposite me, had my camera on my knee, with the rear swivel LCD pointed back at me so I could frame and focus. She's about two feet away:

Since Honey Bees are becoming scarce I thought you might enjoy a picture of an old Hackberry tree in our yard. It has been occupied for the last several years with these little guys.

| We call them rat-snakes or chicken-snakes around here. It certainly looks like a diamondback rattler, but it has no rattles. Sometimes Mother Nature makes animals resemble others for protection. I don't kill them since they eat rodents and grasshoppers. |

These two grey wolves were guarding our motel room during our railfan trip out west in August. I just would have loved to bring them home. |
