Thanks Allen for the photos, what a long awaited day it must have been. The hard part is now history, although when you said
drywall I am not sure that back breaking jobs are quite done yet.

Mark, Tim, & Ron, . .Thanks for the comments.

Mark, . .The bench-work will most likely begin after the ceilings have been sheathed with gypsum board,
and the electrical circuits and lights along with their ceiling fascia have been installed. The above items will
probably get underway as soon as the concrete has had a chance to season. My guess would be for an
October starting date for benchwork.

To add to Allen's comments regarding bench-work, the first to go up will probably be the Mole ( staging ) area. That way we can pull our Club car fleet (currently being standardized and placed in bankers boxes for storage) and store them in staging, which will free up some storage space.

And to add to Rick's comments, . .first, a wall will be built between Albany and Tallman as shown below on a previous page
of this thread:

The town of TALLMAN is located on the other side of the wall from the Albany Staging yard. A single mainline
(from Albany) enters through a tunnel (left), and after a brief change of direction to the South (on the right),
exits through a tunnel into IRVINVILLE (lower right):

I forgot to mention that the Helix will no doubt be constructed along with staging. The wall goes in first though....

You guys are really ambitious! I admire that! There is obviously still so much to do, but you seem to have a plan for it all. And a good one too from what I can tell! Keep us all posted on the ongoing progress.

Here is an up-date:

While the new ceiling is being installed in the old layout room. We have started surveying to locate where the benchwork and valance is going to be in the new basement. The fixtures and the lights for the valance are being installed as fast as we locate the benchwork. We are making rapid progress.

Thanks everyone for your responses; we greatly appreciate them.
Before posting the recent pictures that Rick mentioned above, here is our modus operandi:

1. Complete the sheetrocking of the ceiling in both rooms.
2. Locate and map the ceiling for lighting and valance installation.
3. Install lighting and electrical.
4. Install lighting valances.
5. Paint ceiling black in front of, and white behind valances.
6. Proceed with backdrops and bench work.

Note the ceiling lights (left of Steve's head) are already working.

It must be very gratifying to see it all finally coming together after all the hard work. Sounds like you guys have a great plan of attack with the ceiling, valence, lighting, etc. It will be fun to see the layout finally getting started. Keep the pictures coming!
