Mike, that looks really excellent!
Do you plan on adding some guy wires to that stack?

Thank you Mike, Greg, Bruce, Bob, Pete, Bill and Frank. I do appreciate your comments.

I'm not sure I'm going to do guy wires. There aren't really enough buildings far enough away to anchor the wires to. I don't want to attach the buildings permanently to the scenery base which guy wires would required. The stack is not so very tall, only about 40' above the roof.

Pete, if you find it bleak, then I succeeded in creating the atmosphere I wanted.

Mike, if you could find a good way to do guy wires, it would add to the sense of that metal chimney as "fragile."

Iím switching back and between my kindling wood factory and a new scratchbuild: a freight house for my town of Alderson, PA. My plans are based on photos of a freight house in Dallas PA and plans for a NYC freight house in an old Kalmbach publication.

Here are the sides cut out and painted, with trim and some bracing:

Four sides glued together:

The walls complete but for the doors:

Thatís the easy part. Roof next.

Mike

nice and clean. The building looks a lot smaller without it's roof.
