Thank you, Kevin. The freight wagons look much like ones in a photo I have of wagons lined up in a coal yard. I

Preiser also has HO scale wagons. This first one has a look of a heavy freight wagon.

There are other wagons by Preiser that could provide fram , shaft, whiffle tree and wheels that you could add a scratchbuilt body to easily. (Preiser has a few more types of wagons besides these couple of examples).

Bill,
Thank you. I was unaware of the Preiser models. I’ll add them to my list of items to look for at shows and shops.

Very simple? Well, oft times, simple is good. Simple is better by many modeler's estimation, in fact.
Looking good.
FWIW: I just picked up an idea from viewing your "simple" foam work...
You worked vertically (like books on a bookshelf) instead of horizontally (like cake layers).
Got me thinking: "Hm."
Then it dawned on me: Hey, vertically can yield more natural looking erosion patterns when needed! (Because you won't have horizontal seams to deal with as with cake layers.) However, the cake layers will be a good starting base for reflecting stratification.
See? This is the way exchanging pics and ideas works!

Yes, looks good. What kind of retaining wall are you going to use?

Andre, thank you.
The direction of the strips was dictated by the horizontal curve of the bank and my wanting to have a good s-curve vertical profile.
Btw the material is heavy paper, the type used to protect floors during construction. |

Bob, thank you. I’m planning a wooden wall, probably to continue out a ways and to include a gate to the coal yard. |

Heavy paper, eh?
LOL!
I saw the lines and thought "foam"!
