I agree, the 18'-0' cars are nice but not different enough from what has already been offered. I think some 14'-0" or 16'-0" cars for the porters might have been a better choice.
I agree with the previous comment about the locomotive as well. A 2-8-0 with whaleback tender would be awesome! The SP #1 started as NCO #14 then went to the NCNG and finished in Hawaii. It also had both a straight side and whaleback tender during it's life. It was an oil burner but a coal option would be very easy for Bachmann to pull off. I feel that locomotive would be a very welcome addition to many layouts.

A third vote for an inside framed 2-8-0, and without turning this into a wish list, its a shame they snub the idea of either a 2-6-2 tender loco, or maybe even a larger tank loco of some desciption.
Anyway, as many other have said, full credit to them for supporting the On30 market, and although I can't ever see me buying the 2-4-4-2, it certainly shows faith in the On30 market for them to produce a second articulated loco.
Cheers,
Stephen |

Hi Andy,
If you come across that link or the photo, if you could chuck in my direction, it would be appreciated - would like to see what could be done, not that I would probably take a knife to a loco that expensive!
Cheers,

| If you check Micro-Mark, they are listing the shorty Boxcar for $67. As far as I am concerned that's ridiculous. Especially, since the regular Boxcar is only 29 bucks. I'd rather build my own, have and will. On30 started as a do it yourself scale and for me and some of my friends it still is. For some of us it is less about having and more about doing. I have enjoyed some of what Rily has done but don't really need Bachmann's recent and copious exotics. |

I think you get two boxcars for $67.00. I will wait until the favorite spot starts selling them. I bet at some point in the next year I will buy some for under $20.00 a car. |

Big L , you are correct it is a two fer sale....but why? It's not men's suites. It's a model railroad car and I might only want one. Like I said, "I'll make my own." |

Hi Andy, there is also a photo shopped 2-4-2 on there from the new 2-4-4-2. It would look better with a shorter tender. Who is going to be first to bash one of those. I will be watching

| Micro-mark just announced their price for the 2-4-4-2. With the sound module it is $398 plus shipping. Four hundred smackers sounds like a bargain, especially if you want it to bash it into what it ain't. That being a loco that more people can afford, use and want. |

I do like that 2-6-2 bash, wonder what you could do with the other driving unit of 6 wheels?!?! Can't see myself taking a saw to another 2-6-6-2, especailly when I've not finished hacking around the first one.
I've always fancied taking a saw to one of the 2-8-0's and making that into a 2-6-0......again dont hold your breath for any photos!
Cheers,
Stephen |

Well, looks like it is time to get an HO 2-6-0 to make reasonable and economical prairie loco in ON30. Since Bacho , in their "what's best for you" fatherly, mode has decided not to do so. Roll your own. Hey, everybody needs a 2-4-4-2 or a 2-6-6-2 articulated loco, right? just ask Lee. Now, if you modelers in On30 were worth your salt you would do what I suggest, make your own, instead of waiting for Bacho to feed your pap. |

For me ON30 is backwoods railroading. I am happy with a couple 0-4-0, 0-4-2, a climax, a shay and hopefully a Heisler. I am not interested in the rest. I like tight curves that those big boys can't negotiate.
Not to mention I am not sure how this topic went from 18 ft. cars to locos. |
