The theme for the first half of August is Weathered Cars (rolling stock). Show us pictures of your own work of photos that you have taken of other modeler's work.
I once again want to caution everyone to keep copyright issues in mind. If you didn't take the picture, it isn't yours to post. Links to photos on the web are allowed, however.
In consideration for those on dial-up, please keep your photos to 80KB or smaller

So far most of my rolling stock is just cheap plastic starter kit cars -- something to run until I can get around to building more accurate models. I've repainted and weathered them so they look presentable. I also removed the truck mounted couplers and replaced them with body mounted Kadees. Here's a pair of gondolas... they were originally shiny, garish plastic:

When I saw the theme for the month, I got excited since I love to weather, especially covered hoppers since my railroad is dominated by grain elevators. I've got so many in my files I couldn't make up my mind which ones to choose. I'll go with these for now. I might add a few more later on.

oooh im going to like this gallery.
here is a up highcube car i did for a friend.
and this soo line car was really my first real go at weathering from some years ago.
two 4 wheel on30 cars showing their age now
bachmann reefer
the 4 BVM boxcars i did as part of the 10th anniversary challenge
and a pair of steel BVM boxcars, yet finished here, i cant seem to find a clear photo of them finished.

Tom, love the hoppers, you have mastered the look and I agree, I had to look twice at the first photo to make sure I was looking at a model.
here are some Mann's Creek hopper cars I just finished in On3.
here is the rusty end of one car

They were originally painted "Steam Power Black", but an overspray of "Grimy Black" to simulate the coal dust from mining operations give them a nice look.

Bruce, I love it.
Just like Tom, when I saw 'Weathered Cars" I got very excited to see what others are doing on their railroads.
Here's mine, some of you may have already seen these posted in the Ottawa Train Expo thread.

Here are a few more of my weathered covered hoppers. I do have multiple numbers of hoppers that come off of 3 railroads in Logansport where my main interchange is. They are N&W (I have about 15 covered hoppers), TP&W (I have 10), and PC/Conrail (I have about 14 of those). I also have several Erie Western, PC, and a few others like former ROCK covered hoppers patched for my short line (about 40 hoppers). The last pictures is of all my EW and EL patched hoppers as an example.
