Looks fanatastic, George. I thought the same thing on the rivet decals I used in another project, but they are visible and add texture to the model after I painted it.

great work, however, your soldering jig! wonderful idea! where was that idea a few weeks ago when i was trying to solder some wires together to make a set of steps for a loco?

brillant!

Thanks for the nice comments.

Chuck, I'm glad to hear the rivets will be visible.

Andy, I'm not sure how the jig would work on loco steps, but I learned long ago that soldering wasn't difficult if you could figure out how to hold things together while they were being soldered. Easier said than done.

it was basicly a U with a single step, all out of wire, but i kept finding hard to keep all the parts flat. (basicly how you've done your fencing, only with a different shape)

still, i have my burnt finger tips to remind me to make a jog a bit like yours :D

Andy, don't start talking about burns - you're gonna bring me bad luck.

The gates have been painted, a sign and lights added and it's sitting on the layout. Some landscaping has to be done around the posts since I drilled the mounting holes oversize. I got home from the club and remembered I never put any “no trespassing” signs on the gates, something that would have been easy to do on the workbench, but a challenge to do now, but I gotta do it.

I still have 6 feet of fencing to add to the right side of the gates, paralleling the track. I was going to weather the gates with a little rust, but it's a Navy base and figured the Skipper wouldn't permit that. I might do it on part of the fence, where it hasn't been repainted yet.
