Ok, I admit it! I ate WAY too much on the 4th of July yesterday...
Time to work off some of those calories...

 (Strasburg, PA)
...there, I'm beginning to feel better!
If it's Thursday, it's time for TPP. Hope you all had a great 4th! Now please share with us your proto photos...[:-bigeyes]

A Vermont Rail System freights heads north to St. Johnsbury on a hot afternoon in June.
The locomotives scared a deer, which you can see running just in front of it. The deer easily outran the train, which wasn't moving very fast. |

20 miles east of Reno, NV is the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, according to them the world's largest industrial park at 110,000 acres. Because of favorable tax laws Wal-Mart, Toys R US and Petco have their national distribution centers there in huge warehouses. It has its own railroad.
One of the huge warehouses probably close to 1M sq ft...

NYNE...great Photo! Living here in Vermont I can appreciate it even more. Driving down the road from our 1830s schoolhouse the other day....
(photo taken the day after hurricane Irene)
... I had a first. I saw a spikehorn out in the meadow about 5:00pm, and a little ways down the road I spotted my first ever Bobcat. Or Blynx. [:-kitty][:-tiger] Most probably a Bobcat...but it looked bigger than the 30 or so lbs they are supposed to get to. Of course I didn't have my camera with me.... What did you think...I was smart...[:-dunce]
So, thanks for that pic...its a keeper.
Here's a pic of sister loco #310 in Rutland, VT...
...not a great pic like yours....[:-sly]
That's a part of what makes a Forum like the RR-L special. Ya never know when some small connection will be made.
Wondering what town your deer/VRS shot was in...?
Cheers, Skip...[:-slug]

| Hey Skip, it was in Newbury, Vermont. I was standing in the boat launch parking lot on the Connecticut River shooting with a 500mm lens. I like that collection of diesels you shot there. That's one of the reasons I like the VRS so much, you never know what's going to be in the consist sometimes. I took the picture on the way home from Quebec back to Boston. |
