This is the almost completed herald for the C&R's subsidiary that runs from Albany to the Canadian border. The C&R and St.L&A meet at a large facility in Albany.

I like the concept of it, Russ! I think the only thing I would play around with are the way Railroad is in italics. It isn't at the sharp angle that St. Lawrence is at, so it looks odd to my eye. Also, I noticed that the white stripes have a strip of black on the right end but not at the left.

What did you use to create it, Inkscape?

Hey, Chuck...That's why I said that it's ALMOST completed! [:-bigmouth] I have to sheer and compress 'railroad' and then change the colors to all white which is the way it will be printed. Stand by![:-dopey]

I like it Russ!
The only thing I would do different, would be using the "&" symbol, instead of spelling it out.

Is that a regional spelling of "Adirondak"
Most of the time I've seen it as "Adirondac" or "Adirondack" ?

I don't know. Maybe the heat has my brain cooked.

Hey, Mark...

Good catch. That's my own spelling. The correct spelling IS Adirondack. I've climbed the peaks there a few times in my younger, thinner days.

Russ,
Great looking Herald! Once you've tweaked it to the final design will you be applying it to some of your rolling stock?

Hey, Mark...Yes, but just a few so once again I'll be looking for a short run decal maker that won't take six months to make 'em up. The last two outfits that I dealt with were no picnic! [:-bigmouth]

OK, Crew...Here's a finalist for my new herald. This one has the ampersand as suggested. My inspiration is the C&NW herald. Looks good me thinks!
