As always fantastic stuff Troels.
I love the way your scene looks so deep (even though it is not). The backdrop with those wonderful clouds and trees seemlessly blends into the foreground scenery. Thanks for the colours you used on those trees - I too will be practicing.
I too had some trouble finding the naples yellow reddish tone. In the end I went into an artists shop armed with an ipad and a pic of your pallete on it. The artist in the shop found a good match.
Cheers, Mark. |

The last pic is amazing, Troels. Great vista, wide perspective, and the ship in the foreground is fantastically weathered. Just one year ago took place the convention in Noyant d'Allier. A nice moment to remember... |

| Oh Frédéric, we often remember the wonderful days we had and the wonderful people we met in Noyant, and have a permanent longing for France :-) |

Troels I must apologise for my lack of comments on your masterpiece. I've been so busy with work lately there hasn't been much time for anything else.
You've made some fantastic progress and as always everything looks so natural and real. It's always a joy to come back and read more of your updates. |
Regards Wes. Dont leave for tomorrow what you can do today. |

The greenery has been vaccumed, and the ice house and pulpwood yard shed have been bedded in as well. More trees next.
Hi Troels, it came out great! I'm happy you liked it. I hope to pick some bags of twigs this summer. Justifies a little excursion to the beautiful island Öland.

Hi Troels! I haven’t been very active lately. Work has taking up all my time. The latest addition to your layout is as beautiful as always. I will be down in Blekinge during a week in July. Is it possible to come by for a few hours?

Having prepared the Convers station square, and painted more background trees I'm finally getting in gear for building (possibly) the last remaining structure of the Coast Line, the Renzetti's art deco diner... the sketch was drawn last year. First stage is a quick and dirty mockup, in pink foam of all things

Oooh, a pink diner :)
I'm intrigued to see what the actual building will be made out of.
I've booked to come visit!
Will send an email offline.

Me to Troels, I'm also intrigued in what you using, are you going for a Chrome finish?

| John and Kathy, I haven't got the faintest idea how to build this thing ;-) Some experimenting to do... It will be cream white and turquoise with chrome/aluminum edgings. |

Troels, just trying to catch up on threads. Amazing progress. What dimensions is the diner going to be? I was thinking that large diameter plumbing pipe might fit the bill, either as the exterior wall or as interior jig to apply overlapping card stock laminated to hold its shape. I have used pvc pipe as a jig to 'set' steamed plywood in the past with good results.

Troels, our local art supply store has "silver" cardstock. If you can get something like that, you could do this as an aluminum or chrome-plated structure, folding and gluing the cardstock along appropriate (foamcore) subwalls?

Troels, I'm thrilled and honored [:-bouncy][:-bouncy] to see the mock-up on the layout. I like Dave's idea, if the card stock is thin enough to wrap around corners without creasing in the wrong spots.
Hear is a couple more ideas that you can ponder over. Do you know anyone that does photo etching? you could have the outside walls done in stainless. The other is styrene and Bare Metal Foil, its used by the model car guys and comes in sheets of about six by nine inch sheets. It's just a little thicker than gold leaf and it sort of like peel and stick then burnish onto the styrene sheets.
Anyway I know you'll figure it out and it will be just as outstanding as everything else you done on the Coast-Line RR. So again I say thank you for the honor of having my name associated with your layout. Ralph |
