Although a static display, it was nice to run across in Portsmouth, VA about two weeks ago.

Karl, I lived in Adrian from 1946-1952, and anything that reminds me of those days is a pleasure to see--thanks!

First off from me this week is something of an oldie (1995): an LS&I loco still in its factory delivered EMD demo colors. I don't believe the LS&I repainted any of their ex-BN units either.

From last week in Conklin NY we see a northbound CP train with NS 12T waiting far in the background.

Here's a real beauty: A Norfolk Southern heritage unit in the old Central of Georgia blue and gray scheme.

Last weekend the Maine Eastern ran a charter excursion down the old Maine Central Rockland Branch to Brunswick and back under splendid spring skies, featuring FL-9 488 and an all-Budd consist including ex PRR parlor-observation Alexander Hamilton. Later in the summer season this train will make 2 regualrly scheduled round trips daily. The Rockland branch is fun to photograph and ride as it passes through pristine Maine rural scenery, includes dozens of photogenic curves and grades reminiscent of mountain railraoding, yet is only a stones throw from the Atlantic coast. For example here's the westbound train ascending and cresting the reverse curves and grades of Warren Hill

The line also crosses numerous ocean inlets, salt marshes, and tidal bays such as these model-genic locations at Edgecomb and Wiscasset

Hi all,
Everyone has some really nice pics this week!

I spent most of the day in Altoona, PA today at the Horseshoe Curve and the Railroaders Memorial Museum. While at the museum, I walked to the overhead bridge going over the Amtrak station and got some good pics of a Norfolk Southern freight.

At Horseshoe Curve we saw some helper units a few times going back up and down the curve. We also saw quite a few freights. I might post some pics when I get them off my camera or I might just wait until the next Thursday Proto Photo.
