Life is good! Only you can make it happen!
Several days ago as I left a meeting at a hotel; I desperately gave myself a
personal TSA pat down.

I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets. A quick search in
the meeting room revealed nothing.

Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed
for the parking lot.

My wife has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in the ignition.

My theory is the ignition is the best place not to lose them.

Her theory is that the car will be stolen. As I burst through the door, I
came to a terrifying conclusion.

Her theory was right. The parking lot was empty.

I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I
had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.

Then I made the most difficult call of all, "Honey," I stammered; I always
call her "honey" in times like these.

"I left my keys in the car, and it has been stolen."

There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been dropped, but
then I heard her voice.

"Idiot", she barked, "I dropped you off!"

Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well, come and get me."

She retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this policeman I have not stolen your car." >

Yep it's the golden years.

That's great Dave. You know, as Harsco likes to kid me, I'm getting there myself. Funny; I can remember things from years ago, but damned if I know where I just put that screwdriver! [:-boggled]

There is no doubt in my mind Dave that you got "The Look" when she picked you up, and you will continue to receive "The Look" well into the future. [:-irked][:-grumpy][:-skull] On the plus side she did convince the police that she hadn't stolen the car.
I'm not that bad but I do wonder around the parking lot looking for my pickup truck because I kept forgetting where I parked it. I do have a handicapped parking thingy now so I don't have that far to wonder now!! I have forgot it tho

Over the last six months to a year I am ALWAYS misplacing Kevin(keys), Empty Eddie(Wallet)and Chuck(Checkbook). I gave them names so when I'm in public muttering to myself where Keven, Empty Eddie or Chuck is, nobody knows what I'm looking for........

You don't know how many times I've left the keys in the LOCK OF THE FRONT DOOR!. Then is Empty Eddie, which I seem to love to leave in the car and misplace it in the house. I seem to be on a constant search for Chuck. The light will go on that I have some bills due....only to have NOT the slightest idea where I left Chuck.

That's funny Dave and it reminds me of the first date with my wife to be. Everything was running perfectly. We had taken a ride in the country, stopped to have dinner and drinks, then on our way back to her house, I stopped to check the oil in my old Ford car. Anyway, when ready to go, I oouldn't find my keys! I looked everywhere, in the engine compartment, under the seat, and do you know where they were? Of all places, in my pocket! Never looked there!
Well, she married me anyway!

As I frequently remind Mark, everyone eventually gets a turn in the barrel.....the scary part of that story is how easy it could happen to me!

Yeah, guys. I had a good laugh too when I read this. Especially the part about her trying to explain it to the policeman.
And Andy, you're far too young to be forgetful. What's going to happen when you get to be our age?
Later.

Dave:

The lesson I learned quite a few years back, I accidentally left my keys in the ignition as I locked the door to go into the library, to my shock thats just where I found them when I realized that I couldn't access the car.

Someone in the Library was good enough to call the police as I worried as to how I was going to get out of this fix.

when an officer arrived he had a gadget that opened the door in a matter of seconds.

I then made a special note to carry an extra key on my person ato all times (JUST IN CASE) that incident took place about 1985.

Just recently I came out of a local store and as I opened the car realised that I wasn't finished, so I went back in and took care of the chore only to discover that I couldn't find my car keys, after 5 frantic minutes of checking my pockets I went to the car, to my relief they were left in the ignition just before I locked the car to go back inside,. Only this time I reached into that special spot for the extra key and quickly gained access.

Henry
