The much anticipated "Delwins Boat & Net Storage" is shipping from www.railscaleminiatures.com

Judging from the size of the box this is RSM Dario's biggest kit yet!
This years kit is based on a couple of real structures found in Brownsmead, Oregon in the U.S.
And it's just packed full of goodies!
The kit comes with Dario's well written 78 page instruction booklet.
And a new feature with this years kit, a CD with 24 colour photo's showing the completed diorama built by Dario, taken from all different angles.Though Dario's instructions always have lots of Black & white photo's, this added feature of having 24 coloured photo's to see will be really helpful during construction.

It has so many bits & pieces it's really hard to show in one photo.
So here are a couple of shots showing this kits contents.

And a close up shot of the castings that come with the kit.

And the 3 resin cast Bowpicker boats that Dario has had specially produced for this kit.

Also a nice assortment of signs in differing colours for you to choose from.

I won't be able to start this right away.[:-banghead]
I will use this thread as my build thread when I get around too it.
I just had to share with you my excitement! About finally receiving this kit in the mail.
I also promised a forum member, that was asking about this kit.
That I would show him the contents, when the kit arrived.

Oh! One more thing I forgot to mention, this kit also has an additional lighting kit that you can purchase from Ngineering. www.ngineering.com.
And the lighting kits really help in taking these kits to a whole new level of realism!

Greg,

Good to see. I ordered one back in the Fall after seeing it in Sacramento at the Train Show after the NMRA convention. I have been waiting with eager anticipation.

Hi Jeff, and welcome to the forums!
Yes...it's really hard "NOT" to purchase one of Dario's kits.
Your eyes lock on to his magnificent looking dioramas.
Then your wallet magically jumps from your pocket, then empties itself while you watch helplessly.
Do you plan on building your Delwins right away?
Are you interested in making it a group build?
Am I asking too many Questions?

Nothing more exciting than finding a new kit waiting on the front porch when you get home from the daily grind. Looks like a great kit...I look forward to your builds.

"OH WOW!!! You're kidding me!!" (That's exactly what came out of my mouth when I saw that you were starting this thread!!)

This kit being built by you will bring a whole new sense of excitement to the forum Greg! I can't wait, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what modeling techniques you will be blending together to bring this to life. I sure hope that's it's sooner instead of later when you get the opportunity to apply your magic to this kit.

Greg,
I haven't received the kit yet. (I hope Dario hasn't forgotten about me.) Anyway, I don't think I can start the kit right away. I live in Regina and the Echo Valley Railroad Guild (the club I am a member of) is hosting the CARM convention this year and is combining it with the 6th div of the PNR of the NMRA at the end of June. In addition to the club's preparations I am hoping to get a small project finished to be judged for the NMRA achievement program. Then it's summer vacation and so on. . .
I would be interested in a group build in the fall if I could keep up with the pace.
By the way, did you get the lighting kit from Ngineering?

Thanks everyone for your interest & for your nice words of encouragement!
Like I said earlier,I won't be able to start this right away.
My wife has plans for me to finally finish off our cottage this summer.
And I hope to get a few other projects finished before I can start this kit.
And these bigger kits take me a little longer to do.

Jeff,I am certain that Dario has not forgotten you!
And yes I have purchased the lighting kit from Ngineering already.
But I won't get around too building it until the fall probably.
So if you, or anyone else that is buying this kit and would like to join in, that would be fantastic!
And if not, then this thread will be here to help you when you are ready to proceed.

By the way here are some extremely nice photo's that Dario has taken of his diorama featuring this kit.
I should really make them a part of this thread, so those that have not seen it, can see how fantastic this kit looks!

Those last two shots are "way up there" with the finest modeling shots ... truly outstanding! Both the model building and the scenic work are first-class. You'll definitely have your hands full keeping up with Dario's "sample" ... but it should be an extremely enjoyable challenge ... at least for those of us just watching!
