Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the coffee and meals Andy and Martin.

Nice looking cabinet Martin.
What color are you spraying it?

Andy, I'm sure you'll find the Porter eventually.

Hope everyone has or had a great day.

Good morning everyone and thanks for the coffee Andy.

Been away at a model railroad convention in Sudbury this past weekend. Got back Monday night and spent yesterday catching up at work and I see there is a lot of catching up to do. [:-bigeyes]

First off, belated congratulation to Troels and Annie on 35 years.

Martin that is a sweet looking cabinet you have made.

Had a great time in Sudbury and took tons of pictures. Here is just a very tiny sampling.

While standard gauge I think this would make a great looking On30 critter.

And for those interested in mining equipment......

Have a great day everyone

cool photos, the last looks like a ruston? i wonder how it got over there?

martin, nice work!

i just got off the phone with a group of scientists who have been looking at the bermuda triangle. and after telling them of my problem have discovered the triangle is indeed much larger then frist thought and have sent me their findings.

strangely enough it ends right at the end of my road..

Good evening everyone, thank you all for the congrats. Ron, Those are great photos of mining equipment, I especially like the scooper skip in photo two, really looks like a neat item to model. Having grown up in Iron Mining country in Michigan's U.P., I think that I'm going to have to incorporate a mine into my future layout. Of course now the mining is done with Dump trucks the size of my house, but one can still hear the echos of former days when steam was king and earlier yet when the drilling was done by hand, and carts were hauled by mules. When my daughter who grew up in Negaunee moved to the LA area, she felt an earthquake, and thought it was simply the mine setting off it's charges at noon. Talk about having a "blast"[:-sly]

forum is a bit slow for me today, when i logged in there where no active topics for me.... strange everyone else alright?

seems i'll open up again, tea, coffee and a big breakfast omelette on the side, help yourself.

FOUND THE PORTER. brother had taken it by mistake with a buntch of his paper work, was returned last night. wohoo.

not a massive amount of work on the club layout last night really. i chopped up some wood for the station. however elsewhere in the club, all was busy, we removed our old tin shed, i found a ballon filled with helium gas.... well you can guess what i did next. so thats out of the way and we're not paying land rent for it. other members worked on a members ho dockside layout till about half 10. we also found a little yellow ball and ended the eveing with a little bit of a kick around. all good fun.

got some stuff to do this morning, then im going to make a start on some of the rolling stock to get it out of the way.

hopes everyone has a nice day

Mornin Andy...thanks for the breakfast & Tea!!!!
Glad to see the Porter made it back home for ya.....
Foggy again this morning....sorta eerie looking, and very still.
No deer, birds or geese...hmmmmmm?
Better go check the boat, bad thunder last night & that
usually means a boat full of water in the morning.....
All have a fine day...I will be catching up on a few projects that have
found residence on the work bench for a couple months.....

Good morning everyone and thanks for the coffee Andy.

No modeling for me last night as we had our last meeting before the big show here in Ottawa this weekend. It's going to be the biggest show in eastern Canada and I'm in charge of the audio-visual aspect of it. There will be dealers from the US and Canada, layouts and clinics both days, it's going to be fun (and busy)

John, Sudbury was/is a big mining center in Canada and there was a lot of narrow gauge stuff. I also took pictures of what I think is a compressed air loco.

Have a great day everyone.

evening all.

seems nobody has checked in besides larry, thanks for coffee and food!

strange day. its not often i can sit and model for most of the day without being distracted by something else or house work etc. ive stained miles of scale wood for the club, a few yards of my own wood. some weathering, some painting, some decals and tomorrow will see a number of projects done been stacking stuff up when they need all one job done to them.

also making a number of shopping lists. slightly annoying on one matter, i have a very close friend visiting from belgium (who i stayed with when i visited belgium twice) in a couple weeks. the day she leaves, there is a local-ish narrow gauge only show on, and the 7mm narrow gauge group will have its sale stand, and lots and lots of grandtline stuff (and im sure some other nice stuff) so im not totaly sure if i'll be able to go, this is the 3rd time its been put on and ive been to the 1st and 2nd. i know roughly when she hops on the train home so it'll depend if A. nick is going and B. nick still wants to go after half 2-3pm...

Good morning everyone! The fire in the potbelly stove is stoked up, coffee's on, and Sourdough Sam has cooked up a real he-man breakfast of Corned beef hash, eggs, bacon, ham, grits, hashbrowns, pancakes with REAL maple syrup, blueberry muffins, fresh biscuits, and a heeping plateful of donuts. Dig in becaues we're laying track and clearing right of way in section 25 today.(Actually, I'm on my way to Grand Ledge to take part in Victorian Days as a Union Soldier[:-cowboy]

Great breakfast spread Steve!.....thanks for making the coffeet too.
Beautiful day at the beach today.....big rain last night, but sun's out and things are drying up nicely. Gotta cut the lawn again as the house in "on the market" and the big "for sale by owner" sign in the lawn. Getting some calls and hopefully we get some "action".

With the G&PC nicely packed away and a number of items sold, I've been really starting to focus on the next On30 project. Looks like it's going to be Maine, I'm looking hard at the Monson or the Kennebec Central. Both rr lend themselves to narrow shelves. They were both pretty close to "2x6"...2' by about 6 miles long.....now they were both pretty short on variety of rolling stock (both had a lot of gons and flats) so I may bring in a couple of more lineside shippers to jazz up the operational play time.
Structure building will be a big part of the layout.....the KC had some pretty unique stuff down at Randolph and of course Monson had "the quarries"
(I'm going to have to check with Professor Snodgrass [:-tophat] and see what he's got in his reference library.....Snodgrass has been EVERYWHERE and has been blessed with a photographic memory making him a "tour de force" of all things railroading.)
Well that's it for today.......going to have to spend a couple of hours at Troels's site catching up on his "activities"....and yes, a belated congratulations to Troels and Annie on their 35 years together.....Irene and I will be celebrating 38 years (as long as this house sale and move goes off at her level of expectation!![:-bigeyes][:-bigeyes2][:-shake]

Stay well.....sully
