Good morning all ... Rick thanks for the coffee ...

Spent the day yesterday getting the 5th. wheel and boat ready for our fishing / camping trip in Saskatchewan. We will have 8 days of fun in the sun starting Thursday.

Tomorrow when the business open I think I'll get some big card board to mock up a section for a modular unit. It would be interesting to see what 1/4 section of a 6 ft. dia. would look like.

Have a great day ...

Good Morning All,
Its still hot here in Northern Virginia, and we have power so all is not too bad. Sporatic modeling time, when I could have spent time in the RR room where it was cool, I didnt because I wanted to use electrical stuff. Any way I have plans for modeling tonight and tomorrow in hopes of clearing the decks of projects.

You all have a safe 4th,
Les

Good morning all .... coffee is on ....

A few years back I had to figure out what a "wall wart" was. Now I have to look up "The Wall", Roger Waters, Pink Floyd. The re-invention of noise. [:-hypnotized]

Les, glad to hear you folks are getting your power back.

Have a great day ........

Good afternoon everyone.

Thanks for the coffee Tom.

Mark, that sounds interesting.
Anything you can share with us?

Had a union meeting to go to this morning and made stops at the library and produce store on the way back.
Group ride tonight at six and some chores to do in between.

Posted some youtube weathering videos last night: http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35363

Happy 4th July to all our US Friends from Down Under. No doubt lots of parties and celebrations. [:-party]

It is 0 degrees C here in Ipswich this morning - bloody freezing but better than the heatwave and tragic wildfires you guys have been suffering.

Last Wednesday we moved a 2 ft gauge War Department Hunslet 4-6-0T from storage into the Government railway workshop next door for rebuilding/restoration. Built in 1916 for use in France on the Western Front. After the War it came to Australia where it spent more than 40 years hauling sugar cane to a mill in North Queensland. It will become the centrepiece of an exhibition I am working on.

The two 30 ton capacity overhead cranes make short work of lifting the Hunslet off a flatcar that had been used to take it into the workshops building.

The Hunslet 4-6-0T one of 115 built by the Hunslet Engine Company. Baldwin built 495
4-6-0Ts for the British Army.

I reckon if Bachmann would produce a Baldwin
4-6-0T or one of the 2-6-2Ts supplied to the American military in WW1 they would sell very well.

David, great little engine, years ago we put a layout up at the hollycombe steam museum and someone there had a half restored hunslet. i dont think ive seen one running yet, but i agree, if someone made one, it would sell well.

happy 4th july to our friends across the pond :)

martin, great trees!
got a little bit to do around the house this morning, will be boxing up the layout today, and clearing the room of trestles. we have a guest arriving this weekend and staying for a couple weeks.

hope everyone has a nice day
