Here is an in-progress photo of my ventilated boxcar. I started with a Rail Line boxcar kit with Blackstone trucks. The door and frame around the vent is made from styrene strip with brass screen and rods fitted. The fruit load are boxes made from balsa wood with resized labels I found on the net. The car is painted using PBL's Star brand paint.

Still a bit of work left, but I'm happy with how it's turning out. |

| Nice job on the car, Chuck. I like that you put a load in view. |

| I like the idea of the screen in the small vent...it's a sharp detail. Very nice, Chuck! [:-bigmouth] |

Thanks everyone! It's getting there...I've got 6 more grabs to do, lettering, and light weathering. Should be done by the weekend. That is, if I can figure out a roadname for the under-construction layout!

Here is the finished car, lettered for my Lakegrove & Northern. I still need to weather it, but I need to decide how much first...will probably end up VERY light. I also want to add brake hoses if I can find some.

Great job on the car Chuck. I agree with Bruce and Russ on the screen and load, nice touch, and of course, it has truss rods |

| Very nice looking piece of rolling stock, and well done. Having "Lakegrove & Northern" road name sure makes finding decals easy. Wish I had been that clever. |

Thanks Andy, Scott and Lou!
I live in a small area that is named Lakegrove, so the roadname was pretty easy to come up with...plus I had some N scale L&N decals... |

I'm curious, what do you guys use for couplers on narrow gauge cars.
