The Great Lakes HOn30 Module Group is a group of model railroaders from OH and MI, with satellite members in TX and AZ (who formally lived in the Great Lakes region), who are modeling the 2 foot gauge RRs of Maine in HOn30. The modules are a 50/50 mix of prototype and freelance scenes. A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that I would be posting photos of the group's modules. I am finally getting around to it.[:-spin]
Locating photos of everyone's modules has been a bit challenging. I thought I had photos of every one, but they are proving to be elusive. I will be posting photos, as I find them, and hope that Stephen Pinkham, a fellow GLHON30er, and member of this forum will post some as well.

OK, Jeff, I surrender. You're right. "Locating photos of everyone's modules has been a bit challenging." I just went through my stuff, and found nothing of Forum Quality therein. [:-paperbag]
We need to make a concentrated effort to get decent pix at the Midwest NG Show next week.

OK, some more hunting, diving deeper....

Welcome to "East Dirigo," one of the end modules for the Great Lakes HOn30 Module Group HOn30 layout. "Dirigo," Latin for "I lead," is the motto of the State of Maine.
This is a close-up of one of Jeff's modules, which is still a work in process. Note the wooden sidewalks and the pre-World War I signage.

Here are some photos taken of modules of the OH members at a Dayton, OH, train show last November.
Download Attachment:
This is the newest module on the layout. It is my freelance depiction of James Pond, in Maine. The actual pond happens to be a couple miles from the old right-of-way of the WW&F Ry, the 2nd largest of the Maine 2 footers. A lot more work needs to be done to it.
Download Attachment:
This is Gliebe's Landing, built by Phil Gliebe, and is a freelance harbor module. It contains a small yard for us to store rolling stock during exhibitions.
Download Attachment:
This is the module of the late Vic Hamburger and depicts the town of Weeks Mills, which was on the WW&F Ry. Although Vic lived in MA, he set his module up with us on a couple occasions. He was a fantastic modeler, woodworker, and person. His widow felt that we should have his module and we display it whenever we get the chance.
Download Attachment:
This is my freelance Schumaker's Mill module and is a loose represention of the American Woolen Mill that was on the short-lived Winslow branch of the WW&F Ry. It's also the oldest module on the layout.
Download Attachment:
This is my freelance East Dirigo module, which is a represention of small town Maine during the time period of the 2 footers.
Download Attachment:
This is Sam Swanson's Windes Inlet module, which was inspired by the Thatcher's Inlet series by Frary and Hayden. Several articles regarding its construction have appeared in recent issues of Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette.
Download Attachment:
This is Jim Foster's versatile Mewuppinas module. It can work as a straight module, right hand or left hand turn module, end module, or even as a stand-alone layout.
Download Attachment:
This is my Headtide Station module, representing the depot at Headtide, ME, on the WW&F Ry. The location of the depot on the prototype was unusual, as it was on the opposite side of the Sheepscot River as the town of Headtide was.
As time permits, and as I find them, I will post photos of the other modules of the GLHON30 group.

| I will be there Friday with a long list because a lot of the vendors there you don't see at the bigger shows and many great modelers to talk too. One of the best shows around. Tom |

I dug up some more photos. Here are some of the modules from the MI members, plus one from TX.
The first few photos were taken at the Midwest Narrow Gauge meet, the only time it was held at the Canfield fairgrounds.

Bob Peterson's North Anderson module.
Download Attachment:
Brian Goodman's end module, a work in progress.
Download Attachment:
Stephen Pinkham's Linekin Bay module, which can double as a stand-alone layout.
Download Attachment:
A better shot of Jim Foster's module.
Download Attachment:
Pete Magoun's two modules depicting North Whitefield on the WW&F Ry. Pete has written articles regarding its construction, as well as how to build lightweight modules, in the pages of Maine 2 Foot Quarterly.
Download Attachment:
One of Pete's modules depicting Whitefield on the WW&F Ry.
Download Attachment:
Pete's other module of Whitefield.
Download Attachment:
Pete's module of Winslow on the WW&F. It was built in honor of his daughter-in-law, who is from Winslow, ME.
The next few photos were taken at our setup at the 2010 NNGC in St. Louis.
Download Attachment:
Pete's module of Headtide Tank on the WW&F Ry.
Download Attachment:
Terry Davis' modules depicting Ford's Mill on the WW&F Ry.
Download Attachment:
Tom Hoermann's Rabbit Hill end module. Tom has lived in MI and OH, and now resides in Houston, TX. The taller gentleman on the left is Noted Modeler Jim Foster, author of several HOn30 articles and resident comedian of our group. He happens to be doing an interview for the online magazine, Model Railroad Hobbyist.
More module photos to come, as I find them.

Bob Peterson's retired Monson Jct. modules.
Download Attachment:
Brian Goodman's Randolph module. Randolph was the southern terminus of the Kennebec Central RR.
Download Attachment:
Tom Hoermann's Chickawaukie Pond module. This module is based on a photo in the book, A Day's Work.
Download Attachment:
Tom's Gove's Log Yard module.
Download Attachment:
Our seldom used staging module.
There are still a couple module photos I'm searching for. Stay tuned...

Nice selection, Jeff.
Let's try for some better pix at the Midwest Show. We need Phil's Moxie sign, too!

Ah, yes - the Canfield Fairgrounds. I remember it well. But not fondly. What an armpit of a location!

Don,
Yes, the fairgrounds was not the best of venues, but Gary K. made the best of a bad situation after being denied use of the church hall on short notice.

My module of Coopers Mills on the WW&F.
I believe I have found photos of all the modules of our group. I'm sure one of the members will point it out if I've missed one.
