Hi, Iīm an English guy living in Switzerland and France, modelling in 1:19 - 1:22.5 narrow gauge on an indoor live steam layout in Alsace, France.
The Kent & North Wales Light Railway draws its inspiration from the railways of SE England (Kent) and the narrow gauge of North Wales. One half of my 50 x 20 ft basement room is devoted to Wales, the other half to Kent. Four bridges connect the two halves and allow for access. The lower loop and terminus station of the K&NW LR is modelled with 32/45mm (gauge 1 and O) dual gauge track, the upper loop with 45mm (gauge 1) profile hand built track with wooden sleepers.
The photos and videos on Youtube (see signature) can tell the story of the last couple of years better than I can, but Iīve had trains running now for the past three months.
My interests, apart from live steam, are large scale indoor layouts in general and buildings and scenery in particular. But if itīs got trains on, it will generally catch my attention!
Looking forward to exchanging views with you guys and seeing some more great modelling. |

Andrew, welcome to another member of the Burned Finger Brigade, although I burn my fingers outdoors.

The Gauge 1 guys, who use meths to fire their locos, have more problems inside than the gas-fired narrow-gauge brigade to whom I belong. All we produce is a little CO2. Iīm told however that exhibition layout running multiple trains over an all day session set off the CO2 detectors by midday. Iīm lucky in the sense that I can open the door (if itīs not too cold), and that the cellar is twice as big again and provides quite a lot of "fresh" air ... |

The current Mrs K&NWLR would answer: "Too many ...!"
Iīve been accumulating for around 15 years and I now have a collection of working / in maintenance Roundhouse, Accucraft and Pearse locos, mainly of British origin, but with a couple of exotic ones (Accucraft Germany ....) Thereīs a Youtube video of the ones that are stored on the lower loop (though they donīt all want to work ....) |

Don't worry, 'too many' is never the answer to 'How many live-steam locos do you have?'
Which are your favorite(s), and/or run best. I'm always interested in experiences and feed-back to guide my own future purchases in an envisonment where I have few chances to see them in the metal. |

| Welcome to the Forum. Way back when (in the 50's), I spent 2 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed at Metz, France. It's a nice part of Eastern France. |

| Hi Don, Just been on your website. Very impressed. I have a very good friend from Oxford (a few years ago) who came from your town. Good to know that the art of model rail modelling is alive and kicking in your area. |

| Hi Andy, You asked a question about my locos. Iīve now got around 20 as I said. To be honest, Iīve been having trouble with some of the Accucraft China-built locos, but maybe itīs my inexperience of live steam (15+ years ....). Roundhouse have almost never beeen difficult. Some of the others .... ughhh donīt ask. Or do :-) |

| My Roundhouse R/C Fowler is a beautiful, reliable, and fine-running loco. |

Surprisingly, the Easyline Regner range (see my Youtube) videos, are some of the best slow running and reliable locos I have - and the cheapest. |
