I have some 50ft. PS-1 boxcars that I am going to be changing trucks on. I'm pretty sure that the 50ft. cars were 100 ton, but I'm not 100% positive. Does anybody know for sure? Should I go with 70T or 100T trucks? P
The first thing I'd check would be the data on the car itself: If "Capy" is more than 140000, you need a 100T truck. If you don't trust the vendor to get the paint right, check an Official Railroad Equipment Register for the cars in question.

Kadee boxcars are among the best researched ever-- they won't even do a car unless the body style is an exact match. The dimensional data on the cars should be perfect and directly from prototype photos.

Red P- second that emotion. Beautiful cars- just a limited era. Fifties until early 1970's. Something modern would be nice. Some of the early Ps-1's had 50 ton trucks, most had 70 ton trucks.
This car is a typical PS1 with an 8 foot plug door and solid side sill added. It rides on 50 ton ASF ride control roller bearing trucks. As Bill (buffalobillho) has already pointed out.
