I had missed these last pictures, Randy. The truck is again a nice one, but I think what I prefer is the very nice ground cover which provides a perfect basis for all these good models.

Hey Frederic,
thanks for stopping by.
I just finished my 4th truck kitbash,
this time a Yat Ming 1937 Studebaker Coupe Express Pick Up Truck 1:18 into a flatbed,
again with a lumber load,
in lew of my next diorama- a sawmill as the layout theme,so the need for a few trucks,
theres a bare few pickups in 1:18/1:19 scale in the 1930s'.

Well now I got to get back to the Simpson Creek Mercantile and get some shakes split for the roofing to finish it up for the challenge as well to move on with the current "Columbia Pacific Railroad" diorama.

The old Study looks sharp, Studebaker always had nice lines to their truxks.

Hey thanks Mark,
well I'm glad I was able to make these trucks,
and a special thanks to the Sundance Central guys where I first saw the 37' ford Solido pickup
conversion to a flatbed, it was a lotta fun,

Diorama modeling?
over traditional model railroad modeling.
some folks think its odd I model as dioramas rather than building operating layouts.
most everybody has done some diorama modeling now and again.
I started out diorama modeling way back,
modeling in "N" scale because I lived in a small house,( 2'x 3' ) pieces.
my current dioramas are the size of the room I have to work with,
which is 22' x 14'2",
as you know I have been modeling in 1/2" scale + for the last few years, (G scale)
with products from 1:24 to 1:18.

my diorama in G scale is ......................22'x 11'4",
in O scale that would be the equivelent of.... 11' x 5'8",
in HO that would be............................5'6" x 2'10",
in N that would be ............................2'9" x 1'9"

so I was thinking the other day I'm still modeling the same amount of scenery
I was modeling when I first started in "N" scale,
its just that in G scale it takes a room space the size that I now use.
intresting?

moss on the rocks is Woodland Scenics "Fine" grass flocking material in the plastic canisters,
the clumps are real "green moss",google "green moss"and you can get bundels of it.

Well friends,
this will be my last entry for the Columbia Pacific Railroad,
I'm moving onto a different and new venue/scale/& challange.
I'm gonna take a crack at a multi-deck N scale layout for long frieght train model railroading
for my next build,
it will also be my time to move into the DCC technology,
thanks to all who followed along these last few years,
maybe I'll eventually pop up on the N scale thread,
then you can all see if I'm hacking the "Little Trains".
