Bill, Good to see progress, while I was strolling thru the pics, I was wondering how you were gonna do the track installion, and YUP you were gonna do it off RR on the bench. Would have been a pain to do it on step stool leaning over for hours. I do like you progress, and even more so willingness to tear it up and do something different. You got some nice long runs there it will be fun when you are open for business and we all can come and operate. Just imagine, trains in the morning, fishing and beer in the afternoon, then fishin lies and food in the evening...nuttin better.

Wow Bill, I see you are making the most of your time at the lake and you have done a lot already, the track work is looking great. I know what you mean about the flextrack, that's why I prefer hand laying my track (plus the fact that I really like doing it).
I'm glad you decided to make the changes, it's better to make them now than live with something you are not happy with.

Ready for re-install.... All hand laid track, han made turnouts and servo's installed. Unit is 9 feet long, and has 4 power drops. Frogs wil be controlled via Frog Juicer (Hex).
Above is the right end servo, installed and ready for alignment. These are very powerful small servos, and you really need to spike either side of the turnouts where the points meet the stock rails. If you don't, you will notice that when the servo moves the points to one side or the other, the whole section of the turnout will move.....ask me how I know....
Ready to go in... I will post some "Posed locomotives" on the lead this afternoon.....maybe.....lol! Thanks for stopping by....comments always welcome..... |

Geezer,
Looks good ... never thought of hiding a servo with a green coffee cup. Should blend in well with the scenery. |

Thanks Guys....Yeah Les, I made it so I can take it out....The Tams servos will get covered up with hollow rocks or a hollow log pile. I got the base in for the log camp, sure glad that the carpentry is done for the most part.
The back side is 82" long that connects to the runaround that I just installed. The side on the left in the picture is about 30".should make options for a couple nice tunnel entrances.....But that's way down the road. Kicking around a idea about making some kind of retaining wall from these tiles -
I found 2 plates like these in the clearance pile at LOWES - $1 each! They are about 1/2" thick with a flat back....Thinking about making a mold and see how they come out with plaster of paris..... And, finally, Here's how I solved the "extra stub siding" that grew last week.....
Oh yeah, I have to cut in that trestle I just built.....I will kick that around..... So thats about it for now, thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the support you guys give.....Have a good one...I think I will "indulge" tonight.....Bless

looking good bill!
i like the rock face/tiles i would follow suit of martin if you made some casts of them by adding a few lines etc but otherwise they look great! |

| Old #2 is looking great. Looking forward to seeing your casting of the rocks, perhaps granite. |
