Thanks guys...'preciate it!
I will work on the stairs and adit this morning.
The tipple platform will take some figuring...
That work will more than likely take place when I
am here for 2 weeks (batchelor) at the end of this month.
I'll be back!

Bill, this mine is going to have a very impressive trestle connection. Very nice.

Thanks Frederic - A question has been posed to me, and I am seeking opinions:
A viewer (annomous) suggested "not so stout" bents, seeing that the track
will only be supporting a small Lory and 2 - 3 ore cars.....I never gave
it any thought, just went ahead and made a jig & built some bents.....
So....what do you guys think? I can build different bents....

Oh I vote tall lean bents that shake when the lory and cars cross over. A sound module under it with creeks and groans...

Dear annomous,

I disagree with using smaller bents. Perhaps the cross members could be smaller but the bents need to be strong enough to with stand the height.

Far from being a bent expert (although I've been told to get one numerous times) I see nothing wrong with yours.
My suggestion is to follow Troels' advice and "keep it coming".

Since you're asking for opinions, here's my two cents...

The size of the timbers looks ok to me but I think there are too many legs on the bents. Even most standard gauge trestles I've seen only have five legs, not six. For a small mining tram, four or five at the most would be plenty, depending on the gauge of track and size of the loco and cars. You could even go with just three legs per bent. For example, here are some pics of a trestle at the Nivloc mine in Nevada. The track was only about 15" gauge, and I don't know whether they had any motive power or just pushed the ore cars across by hand:

Here's one at the Noonday Mines in the Mojave desert, which only had two legs per bent! This track was quite long and served several mines, so they must have had some sort of motive power:

the mine is looking great, and i like the bents as is just a few cross members to stop it swaying about

Thanks all.....Your opinion matters!!!
Ray- Thanks for the reference pictures. I know
that I already have them built, but I am flexible.
I will kiack it around for a while, and then when
I am at the lake for 2 weeks (end of April)I will
decide. The crappies & perch may have something
to say about it as well. ;-)
Thanks again guys!
