Work bench looks good Bill. Glad you had Christmas day to work on it. Merry Christmas |

I should try to clean my benchwork too, to see if such Christmas miracles can occur in more than one place, Bill...

| Now I see an advantage of having small means of finance... I know for sure that under the incredibible mess of my work table there are just layers of more mess ;-) So there's no need to clear it up. It has been difficult to find the cutting mat surface down there lately though ;-) |

Good morning all ... a fresh pot of coffee is on ...
Geezer it is nice to see the surface of your work bench. Glad you had a good Christmas at the lake.
We had a great day with our children and grand children. Lots of laughs, family love and a wonderful meal.
Wish you all a wonderful boxing day.
Edit: Got carried away. I was thinking I was in the lounge .... |

Here's another project that was hiding under all that junk - and, it gave me an excuse to use the Tsunami750 Light Logging Decoder that I found You all know what the steel cab forney's look like, so I didn't bother taking pictures from the start....Here you go:
Here, we have removed the rear truck and put it where I'll never see it again! LOL..Also uncovered the ashpan to get to the tiny board that is the junction box for the locomotive...Explosion in a spaghetti factory!![:-bigeyes]
The rear truck has been removed as well, and the frame.footplate has been cut to allow a way to get the OEM Board and wires out of the way.
Looking at the speaker housing top, you can see the small "V" notch that was cut to remove the wires.... It took quite a bit of courage and kajones to sever the bird's tail, but I did it!!![:-jump]
Before proceeding. I used the template from the instructions to drill 2 very tiny .08mm holes for the stanchions that secure the hinge plate to the floor.
You have to trim away the doors and rear wall of the cab....Be very careful with the #11...[:-bigeyes] Rather than dealing with all those little short wires in the ash pan, I elected to hard wire the Tsunami 750 Light Logging decoder...It went well, except that I had to reverse the wires to the front light....All is fine now. The sound is great!!!
Put back together for the most part & gave a test run around the layout, she passed!
Sitting in the yard, posing with a slopeback tender that I borrowed from one of my articulateds....I think this is the way I will go.....

So, that's where I have been all day....only distracted twice for a ice cold Coors!! I'll be back tomorrow.....
Peace.... |

Bill Nice work, not hard at all to do that is it. It sure changes the look of the X forney now. I see you found the funny wiring them little chinese do.. I would have wired it directly too. Are you going to move the decoder into the tender? if you want disconnects get the TCS ones they are color coded right.
