Bill,

I measured some of my trees 3/8 to 1/2 inch at base, 12" to 14" high.

Pictures today Tom....layout is a mess
with tools and torn out roadway...Laying more ties today
and fiddling with servo #2. The first servo
was interesting....Had problems "centering" for
connection and then had to make a "V" spring so it would work.
Installing in foam is not so easy, nothing for servo to grab on to.
I didnt realise the power of these units...

Bill,

I followed the instructions for me to set the center and the throw. I found it easier than letting the servo find the end points. Yes they have a lot of power.

Looking forward to pictures, mess and all.

OK...maybe now Tom will let me be!!! (just kiddin!)
Servos:

The servo was installed using a small bit of plywood under the foam, and a couple screws down through the base of the servo and into the plywood. you got that....right? LOL!
Anyway, I fiddled with the first one for better than an hour....the 2nd was a snap, after I read the instructions again...."read to the end of the line....you big dummy!"...
I have 27' of track spiked so far, 3 turnouts installed, and about that much left to do.
Tomorrow, I will continue around the bend of the reverse loop and try to button that up as well.

Let me post this before it gets lost.....I'll be right back.......

Forum has slowed down quite a bit...maybe lots of members are posting stuff....dunno.
Anyway, here's the rest of what I have been doing.....

Thats the last of the trackwork completed. (T/T lead)
Been working on a way to hide the lead to the
fiddle/storage area at the end of the layout.
The tunnel is the entrance, and trackwork is completed up to that point.

THe passengher cars are the longest unit on my RR, so I used this one to check clearance. Never
gave any thought til now about the "Big azz Forneys"!!! More on that later.
I'll be back, in the morning.....more pictures & a few questions.....Thanks for stoppin by.....

Bill,

Your TT lead and turntable match up very well.

I'll send the boys over a few steaks and beers for a fine day's work.

Bill,
You do fine trackwork with one good eye. I've got two and wouldn't attempt that.
Really lookin' good.

I will keep that in mind Marty.....
SO....
I must be done laying sub-roadbed - I am out of pins! Rock & a hard place again.

I would like some comments on the loop layout and the coal/ore station mock-up. The loop is smooth and should allow for continuous movement,
using a IRDOT device to signal the turnout servo automatically. I think.....
Here's a couple pictures to get the idea:

BTW - the yellow handled tool is for winding my watch....

The backside of the ore/coal bin would allow for some rock work, and maybe a tunnel....ain't that far yet.

This a opposite end view of the ore/coal leads....
Back to gluing roadbed down and then building 4
new T/O's...3 left 1 right....Comments advise welcome.....
Thanks for stopping by.

All that's left is 2 LH turnouts and about 3 feet of lead.....
All else is spiked & up and running. I am happy with today's
accomplishments. Tomorrow is another day, and I should finish.
Oh yeah...have to install the two servo's as well.....
C ya in da mornin!
