A little work done in the little time I had.
I think the gingerbread looks better now.
I took this shot at an angle closer to the prototype shot at the start of his tread.

enjoy

Yet another up date, finished the gingerbread and added the sub-roof to the dormers and added more row of shingles;

at point all I need to do is shingle the roof and add the fascia boards.
Oh! and touch up the paint again

Dog gone it! I forgot the chimney!
I'm going to have to cut one in.

After the Chimney surgery I need to finish the peaks and add fascias then do a little weathering.

I know that you live in California, but where is the house that you are modeling? Second, if it is California we have always used stronger colors than the east coast or I suppose Europe.

Jan, The house is in Oregon (Coos Bay).
The colors were chosen based on interpreting the prototype photo at the start of this tread and in comparison with this house; and then reduced in intensity to "scale" them.

Almost done. I really like how the roof turned out. Here's the latest;

As you can see I need to decide how to handle the facial boards on the sides yet and whether to add steps to the porch now or when I add it to the layout and give it some weathering which is defiantly one of my weak skills spots.

Comments always welcomed but I'm no door mat.

Your chimney surgery worked out Bob ! I like this little building, has nice angles and a lot of variation..shingle color's great to, maybe a light drybrush to lighten the edges a bit..

That's an excellent looking house, Bob. That's a good recovery with the chimney. I'd only do a light weathering, mostly on the roof.
