Bob-I kind of had a chuckle about the fuss myself.

Good looking backdrop, hope you didn't damage it to much by dropping it!

The gods are not with the Torres y Prietas.Rolled the layout out doors for a few test photographs-and we had the first cloudy morning in a month. Then we had some freakish flying insect hatch with hundreds of flying critters landing all over the rolling stock and buildings...

My driveway is situated so I only have a few windows of quality sunlight, hopefully will get a little better light!

And yet that's a great scene, Duane, despite the gods...

That really looks superb, Duane! Your model of Tumacacori in the background really sets the scene off well. The scenery in the middle of the image appears reddish, is this the normal color or is that due to the lighting challenges you mentioned? It reminds me of Sedona.

Your backdrop panel is really nice, that is something that I am putting off. I need to get mine painted.

Also, your little critters are decked out in paint reminiscent of the old Magma Arizona, if I am not mistaken...unless they are still completing work in the paint shop! Keep the posts coming, it's exciting to see the desert modeled so well.

The best laid plans... Turns out the generic backdrop (48" wide) I had painted yesterday was not quite wide enough to cover many of the angles, but did get a few of the seldom photographed "back side:" I quickly painted another 72" wide section of pure blue just to see how some of the compositions would look without the distractions of a cluttered garage behind it.

This one really works!

May I suggest a shot looking up those cliffs? That would make those cliffs more "dominating."

Duane -- I have your book at home but don't recall plans for the ore cars. Is there a dimensioned drawing out there somewhere? They are a nice "modern" alternative to Grandt Gilpin Tram cars.

I like your layout and would still like to see a track plan. Searched your earlier postings and got a sense of the industrial tracks crossing in the mining area but not enough to tell size etc.

Arthur-will try a closer shot from a lower angle-I actually didnt take the picture, I was holding the backdrop while my wife did. This caused much angst from both parties involved in this particular arrangement. The neighbors REALLY think we're nuts now:

The telephone pole in the background has been the bane of all good photos!

Bill The NG & SL Gazette has published drawings of the Silver City caboose by Garrie Tufford, and Keith Pashina did some very basic drawings of some of the other rolling stock in the Gazette as well. He didnt have very good photos to work from. Gerald Styles of Firebox models brewed up a batch of on30 Silver City Ore cars based on very crude drawings I did after visiting in Silver City, I have about 20 of them but he never released them to the public. If you are interested he may be willing to make a batch, and he's a good guy to deal with. I'll try to get some form of trackplan out in the next week or two.
