Larry,
I've thought about putting a Crispy Creme doughnut bakery some where on the Grande Valley, but as of now I don't really have any place in mind to put it.

Wow! I'm thinking I had better post a update so you guys will know I am still working on the layout.

Well,I guess I will take a shot at posting a underconstruction photo of my river. This is sort of modeled after the Grand river which actually splits Grand Rapids into two sections.Until the first bridge was built across the river GR actually was two seperate towns.

The real river has retaining walls running through most of the town with a series of concrete dams lowering the water level through town.I am planning to replicate two of these dams, one back by the wall and the other one at the front edge (fashia). The real difference between my modeled river and the real one is ,the real one has a rather crappy brown-green colour to it while mine has a blue-black colour.

I am thinking of narrowing the river to just slightly wider than that access door at the back.Anybody have any thoughts about that.

The river looks good Catt, why narrow it? Just rip out the access door completely!

My gas meter is behind that door and even though there is a infra-red reader outside I still need to occasionally read the dial meters that are behind that door.

When we bought the house in 1979 the gas company offered to move the meter outside for free. That is no longer an option.

At that time I never imagined this layout (HO then) would ever be this big.Oh well, live-n-learn.

By the way I took the pic into paint and cleaned it up a bit.Look better?

Newest GVR project.

What seems like a very long time ago I started with this,You can see somewhat of a before pic in the first photo in the post directly above,

Which of course builds this,

unless of course if you are me then it might build this,

which you of course can see isn't done yet.I was planning to use the elevator headshack on the roof ,but I seem to have misplaced the front wall for it.

Nuther small update, this is now officially Kindel Furniture which is based in Grand Rapids,MI. my hometown. The real Kindel is a huge brick structure that was all but destroyed in a huge fire earlier this year.My version is a concrete structure which I am sure is ovious from pictures.

The real Kindel is a absolute monster of a building and in N scale would still be atleast 4 times as long as my version.Anyway here is a current pic of my model.

As you can see there is still much to be done, but a little progress is better than none IMHO.

Great looking building Catt but was this:
"As you can see there is still much to be done, but a little progress is better than none IMHO."
your subtle comment on my lack of progress?
