Paint and ballast does wonders for that, besides with flex track those joints are 3 feet apart. I know on my own layout I have to really hunt to find one.

Couple pics showing more of the road showing in last posting.

The road turn to the left at the far end and crosses the tracks before running off the face of the earth.

In other news I ordered two more #5 turnouts yesterday and will be expanding the trackwork for the grain elevator.

While I am waiting for the turnouts to come (bought from M B Klein) I will start back on the main trackwork probaly on Monday next.

Catt, your railroad is coming along nicely. I have a highway bridge that run to the edge of the layout. I found that once the scenery was completed in this area, it did not look out of the ordinary at all. Your layout will be a beauty when done! [:-thumbu][:-thumbu]

Got the track in for the elevator.I probaly could have gotton one more track for storage ,but I already have more time and money invested in this area than I really wanted to at this point.

I think it is time to move on and get more track in service.

I seem to be stuck in one place, instead of moving on and getting more layout done I am still puttering with the elevator.I spent a couple hours last night painting track in the storage yard.(no I'm not done yet)

Once I have the track all painted I am going to bury everything to the tops of the ties in dirt then toss some weeds on to finish it off.

I wish I could afford a Grassinator because I think some static grass would look awesome in the area.

Catt if you have any of the blue or pink foam on hand you can use that for a grassinator. Just take a piece about 3"x3" and rub it briskly across your forearm for a few seconds then pass it over the grass, repeat as often as needed! Whatever you would have paid for that grassinator just send me a check for 10% of that amount and we will call it even!

Heck Mike, if that works I will cut you a check for 10.125% of the cost.

I tried it and it worked for me, I'm sure it would be faster with the grassinator cause you can to a much larger area in each pass and you don't have to stop and rub between passes, but this method is a lot cheaper.

Decided to take a scenery break and cover up some of the styrofoam with some real dirt and some Woodland scenics scenery material.(no static grass YET!)

I also removed a cross over a little further down the line to help simplify the wiring at this point in the layout's construction.

It's looking good Catt, have you considered painting/decaling the name of the company on the silos?
