Very nice trailer! I especially like the roof and the streak marks.

thank you very much tyson.
here are some of the rustyrail castings i have been painting, not photographed is the smaller junk pile and some trash cans. yet to be painted.

i cut the base of the model T so it can fit tight up alongside the fence, i also cut a chuck out the from so the junk pile could sit much closer together

thanks martin! knowing a couple people who used to do wargaming can be a great help :D
basicly primer, black base (cheapo craft paint, thin) basic colouring/sub colours, detail paint ie picking out tools/parts in other shades, a wash of burnt sienna gouache, followed by some rusty parts picked out with thinned raw sienna gouache, followed with an all over wash of black. any chiped paint is just done via hairspray between a base and top coat and chipped off once dry |

BTW ignore the colouring of the bases, the'll only be covered in tile grout so i thought it would be a tad bit of a waste of paint, and they are dark from the base colours anyway so they should stick out too much later.

Andy, Nice work on the castings, I have some of those too, and some new ones not yet painted. I sand the bases very thin so the integration is seemless. Like you I will use grout and dirt to integrate them into the scenes.

| thanks les, i think i'll cut the cork out where i choose to place them, it comes up easy enought with a little scrapping hopefuly then it wont be too clear that they are on bases |

Your paint work on the castings is very nice, Andy. And BTW, the castings themselves look quite good.

thank you frederic, and yes that are lovely castings, couldnt find a bubble anywhere on them.
i figure i need to make around 5-6foot worth of fencing, so ive made a little jig from gash plastic sheet that should able me to cut and glue the frame work up a panel at a time in as short amout of time as i can, i do however still need to cut more wood for posts, frames and then the boards themselves. for some strange reason this is a job ive not all been that keen on starting, cant for the life of me figure out why.... hehe i also need to wrap up my list for valley model trains as i'll need them done and painted before i start on the tile grout, whitch i still need to buy and play around with, but i dont want to be sitting around waiting on them if i get done with most of the fencing, and tile grout worked out. |

here is the jig ive made, its nothing speical or magic just a few off cuts stuck in place to make the frame work square and neatish, while at the same time being able to make it different lenghts if needs be.

so after a couple days cuting wood into strips, for posts, frames and boards, cutting them to lenght, staining them and making the frames then board by board this is what i have so far, the little alley between the farm supply and garage has been blocked off, and all the way around the yard done, i did fluff up one bit and there is a gap of about 15mm however i shall fill that in with some crusty iron as a model of a prototype boge and no one will know ?:D

im unsure what to do with the diner, the build is removable however a 6foot fence will be to high and block the window whitch is about a scale 6-8 inchs away att he closest, so i was thinking about makeing a 4 foot fence and modeling it as damaged to cross the board joint, however i may make two 6foot setcions and have them on eatch side of the building and not behind it making the back of the diner open, opinions? |

Andy, I just love the scene in the last pic, even if it is not yet finished. The track, then the fence, then the shed provide a series of plans that make the place very appealing.
