just a quick update
the farm supply is now clad with the warehouse clad in campbells iron. good stuff. working on the landing at the top of the stairs. but wont fix it till im ready to stick the buildings down in case it gets knocked.

also started to give clues to what this building is

i think im gannd try and get the flat roof stuck down, and felted around the sides. and finnesh the top of the building. made a start on the loading dock, but only as far as cutting and staining the wood, will make one, then make a jig since i need to make two loading docks. should speed things up a bit.
didnt take a photo but the garage has also been clad in iron, and has had one coat of paint so far. been picking out bits and bobs left over from car and truck kits . plenty of wheels and other junk to help clutter the yard. |

| Andy, looking good. Like what you did by steping the walls. the rolled roofing should wrap up the walls all the way to the parapet cap flashing, in this case aome kind of metal. What is happening at the front of the building. Are you going to put a down spout at the scupper. Otherwise there will be a lot of water really bad staining down the building wall under the scupper. Keep the photos coming. J. |

yup, once the roof is set (glues drying as i type) then i'll add in the extra rolled roofing
i think i want to make some guttering for the back wall, but untill i can get my hands on some u shaped plastic it'll have to wait, but its not a hard detail to add later. can even dig out a barrel for a water butt.
cheers guys |

picture update of what went on during the weekend
the garage base colour was faded. and dirtied. it being yellow and metal, and me having a thing about yellow metal work made me give it a few rust pits and streaks. maybe some local kids have been shotting it with their air guns
also found some light brakets from a set of power lines. thought they'd make great scrap iron, that the garage owner thought would work well as bracket for a small portch.
the building over all
the roof has been made and painted, but needs weathering.
talking of roofs. the farm supply has had its roof done.
just some weathering powders and such will do it.
the warehouse roof was done but spunging on artists gouche. then with weathing powders to sofen and blend. looks ok in my eyes
desided to cut my losses and fix the staircase an walkway. now have to be bloody careful that it dosnt get knocked just need to finnesh painting it and weathering it. very fiddly but adds something.
i also make one of the loading docks. im going to leave it undecked till i do the grass. that way it'll be easy to do, then deck later. |

The red building is fine, Andy, but I love the yellow one. It has a great flavour!

Nice job so far Andy.
Where a scupper is used on buildings, you don't need a gutter. They would put a scupper collection box thru the wall and then a large down spout. the dia of the down spout is determined on the area of the roof/volumn of water needing to be discharges. often time 6 to 12 inches in diameter. Here is the thru wall collection box. it is open on the roof side of the parapet and flashed into the back side of the parapet.

thanks jom, that box looks pretty simple to scratch.
thanks everyone else.
ive since started on what will be the last building the fright deopt. nothing magic to report yet as its still in its foamboard sub walling. will have one door open a small amount though. ive decided that the tiny passenger service will run down the branch of the railroad. but no depot will be made for them, since it would be a twice weekly service with few people using it. they can enter and leave the train via the dirt section between the run around loop and fright depot line.
also been looking up older style trailers. in the 1st place i wanted something like an airstream. or atleast something with shiny body work, however it seamed alot of those where 40's and i wanted an old trailer. and found something quite cute and boxy that should bit the bill quite well. may start that when im done with the deopt |

well this is the friehgt depot so far

again all on foam board. shingles are rustystumps. as is the fright door, the smaller door and window are grandtline. just need to finnesh off the roof. add a few touches, make the loading dock and do the rafter tails. not based any prototype. just had a look at a few smaller ones, plus kits of smaller freight depots. |
