Another Atlas "refugee".
1) Where do you live?
New Jersey
2) How long have you been a model railroader, and how did you get started in the hobby?
I got my first loco from my Uncle when I was born, but have only gotten serious about having a layout in the last ten years.
3) Do you model a prototype railroad or freelance your layout?
My current layout is free lanced with operations roughly based on operations of the PRR Bel Del.
I hope to be able to change out key buildings and industries and use the same layout for occasional free lanced operations of other nearby railroads.
4) Do you model a certain era and/or geographic region?
Eastern US with various 8 year operating time frames in the range 1948-1976
5) How large is your layout and what scale do you model?
12 ft. x 15ft. HO scale.
6) What's your favorite part of the hobby? And what do you enjoy least?
My favorite part is freight and passenger operations. My least favorite part is maintenance of standards.
7) How do you control your trains (DC, DCC, or something else)?
DCC w/NCE PowerPro
9) Post your picture - if you dare.

Ed,
Your idea of swapping out key structures is one that I've heard of, but never seen in practice. Interesting idea, for sure.
BTW, we have a large Jersey contingent here on the forum. I'm from way up north (West Milford), but we also have many from central & south Jersey. |

My name is Jim Brown. I live on Montgomery, Minnesota and have been modelling for 40 years. started out in HO..Switch to N scale 15 years ago..Like the longer trains.
I have a layout that takes up a 15 X 20 ft room in the basement. It's a generic western Canada model, single track,thru the Rockies. I have CN,CP,NAR, but mostly PGE/BCR.
I like kitbashing engines and custom painting them.
I have switch to DCC in the last year. I have the NCE system...I find it very easy to run.
I am married with two married sons and one great grandson, I am 54 and retired, but I do drive school bus partime. I enjoy Raifanning and looking up history on the local railines. |

Hello everyone! Just registered here last Friday. I live in Van Wert, OH in between Lima,OH/Ft. Wayne,IN.
I've been a model railroader for about 30 years.
I model BNSF in the modern day as a proto/freelance layout in HO scale. Based around Marias Pass in Montana with some flatlands for switching opportunities.
My layout is about 28'x28'single level with staging like David Barrow used.
I like operating the most and scenery the least. Once I get going I'm alright just not my favorite.
I use Digitrax DCC Duplex wireless. Used Digitrax since 1998 with Super Chief System. Used CVP Railcommand before that.
I also enjoy sports, history and going places.

I did this partly in the "Lounge" and here for the record.
-Steve Dodge
-Nevada City, CA
-Been in model railroading for 30 yrs following my father.
-I have a 3' x 7' freelance N scale layout with a shortline(Nevada City Southern) and logging road (Dodge Lumber Company) set in the modern era. It is currently DC.
-Layout set in SE Oregon on the old Oregon, California and Eastern line. |

Great to be re-connected with RRLines! Been a member here for a long time, but have not been very active. I do more reading and learning than posting. I'm also a refugee from the Atlas forum. 
I'll see if I can get my old username of KDGC updated to what I've used on the other forums, (Gary P).

Figure I should fill this out, and re-introduce myself:

As a child, many many years ago, my father built me an 027 layout that rolled underneath my bed. Got into HO a few years later, in the early 1960's. Strayed away from trains from about 1975 until 1990, wen I was re-introduced to trains with my son and daughter. Built them a layout (for me too!) and played with them until they got a bit older and their interest waned. However, since selling their layout, I've been more of an armchair modeler and collector. Looking to change that in the near future.
3) Do you model a prototype railroad or freelance your layout?
No prototype as yet.
4) Do you model a certain era and/or geographic region?
I'm leaning towards the Eastern US roads, but still love the UP models. I like Conrail too.
5) How large is your layout and what scale do you model?
None at the moment, but HO scale is where I call "home". I would consider myself a novice, or possibly between novice and amateur.
6) What's your favorite part of the hobby? And what do you enjoy least?
I love all the new and improved loco's. Too many to choose from! .
7) How do you control your trains (DC, DCC, or something else)?
Standard DC for now.

LOL, not too good with computers and pictures, plus I wouldn't want to scare away any others!

Vincent, you must have been using Ms. Dee Rayle for a long time now because I haven't visited the Atlas Forums for a long time but I remember Ms. Dee very well.
