Hy Roland, log cars were the first thing you post a picture of here on the forum. Those look good too.

Outstanding, Roland! I have been lurking a long time, and these cars made me break my silence.

A lot of really nice work. The old guy with his hands behind his back sure gets around.

Thank you all for the comments.
Arthur, Glad I could drag you out of hiding. Kinda miss you around here.
Lynn, the old guy is my Geezer. He looks over my shoulder and keeps me in line.

The log cars are Bachmann. I got tired of seeing them with shiny paint and chrome wheels. They were sprayed with tan paint, then the metal was painted with grimy black. I then went over the car with brown and black chalk, sprayed the whole thing with cheap hairspray and sprinkled on sawdust and wood chips. The chrome wheels were drowned in Blacken It and trucks sprayed black. Both were gone over with chalks.

Roland, those log cars look like they belong in a modeling contest! Beautiful work.

I also like the shed, adding the clerestory really makes it an interesting model.

Roland,

I have a big fleet of the same log cars and would like to know what tan paint you used, did you use Bragdon chalks?

John, The tan paint is Rustoleum Camouflage Khaki and I did use Bragdon chalks. Weathered brown and soot black. The paint was pretty light which was fine as I could control the color. The hair spray also darkened everything further.
Hope to see some pictures.
