Bob,when I was a wee lad, my wise scottish father would say....Finish what's on your plate! Before you start asking for more!

The cute cool little spring house is not finished yet,now is it.
And your already talking about your next towering build!

Slow down man, and smell the styrene!

Ah, my friend Greg, time permitting that spring house will be completed today (it was never
supposed to be a big project). I always have to think ahead to what's next. I got awake too
early this morning and I lay there figuring out how I will handle many of the details.
Can't help it, it's me. The "day-dream" planning is half the fun of scratchbuilding !![:-angel]

I was going to put birds around, maybe a skunk or a rabbit, trees, etc., but I think this puts END to this
kinda silly little structure. But is was fun, and I think that's what a hobby is all about.

And I think I have found a model stone for structures to experiment and expand on.[:-bigeyes]

Cheers,
Bob

Hey Bob, I don't think this was a silly little structure at all!
In fact I think it's a beautiful little building!
Something I have never seen modeled before, but yet was a real important part of everyday life back in the day.
And you have given us all a lesson, on how to make believable looking stone work using sculpey.
So thank you very much for sharing the fantastic work you do!
And how you go about doing it.
I love your models big or small!
And my day is not complete, until I see what sgtbob is up too.

That really turned out great, Bob! What did you use for the grass?

Ray, Just some scraps of Silfor (spelling ??) grass mat that I had on hand and a few tufts
along the edges to hide the edges of the mat..

OK, I have officially started work on the White Tower Resturant. I know it looks dumb and it
took more time thinking about it than actually doing it.

I have to leave the back wall missing because that wall (which will be flush against the next
building) will be part of the interior which will slide into the structure. I also had to
figure out how to neatly curl the front walls into the doorway. I ended up using sections of
1/2 inch styrene tubing and splitting it into a half-round and a quarter-round.

Have to quit for today.

Ingenius solution Bob, nicely done.
Probably would have done something similar myself.
Thinking and planning is at least 75% of a scratchbuild I find.

Karl, you are right. At least 75%.

Here's a shot this this morning. I don't intend to show all such minute details but it seems to
me that this whole structure is based around these two big windows and those windows start
with a large sill. I figured if I didn't get the sills right the whole structurer would be off.
I did used spacers and fleshed out the walls to proper thickness.

Yeah, that looks dumb!

(Just kidding -- there are so many times where I've been inspired to say NICE things in this thread that I just couldn't resist this opportunity to sling some mud!)

Karl's right about that 75% thing ... and sometimes, I get up from the bench and all I've got to show for it is one of those "dumb" little bits of progress that means I've passed that stage and gotten ready for the next bit. Good job on the dumb start! [:-eyebrows]

Here's a couple of shots of my White Tower Resturant as I close down for today. All
styrene as usual. Hopefully it will soon start looking like something.

Holy Mackerel! That looks like a lot of hard work, done in no time at all!
Then I remind myself, that it's Bob Santos were looking at here.
Now,I think I've finally solved what the "sgt" really stands for in sgtbob.
Speedy Gonzales Time!
Nice work Speedy!

Oh rats, it doesn't look dumb anymore!

The curves on the façade and the intricate window detailing will make this a knock-out! Is it too soon to order a burger, fries and milkshake?
