That is really looking great, Bob. I'm trying to think back if the 'our' rag man's wagon was painted or not. I think the aged wood look is appropriate.

Greg, Bob, Ray, Rick, and Bruce. Thanks guys for your comments.
I just noticed something that is not apparent is that the tires are painted steel color. I
think I will go over just the outer surfaces with silver to portray the shiny metal worn by the pavement.

Work on the horse continues. I have also selected a figure to portray the "rag man". It's a figure that is supposed to be a fisherman but I think he'll work out perfectly.

Vic, Jerry, Frederic, thanks for your comments, I keep working on that wagon.

1.started painting the horse,
2.working on the tack
3.added the brake handle and it's gear
4.gathering and making scale "junk"

Interesting point, I'm printing some newspapers. I have some actual 1940's newspapers
and they are a different size than modern newspapers, each page is 17 x 23 inches.

Hope to post more photos soon.

Cheers,
Bob

I have a long way to go yet but here's the 1941 recycle center on wheels as it stands right now.
I have repainted Ralph, the rag-man, and added a whip but I'm not sure I will leave that in
place. Have to see how it looks later. I like to use oils on horses so he's painted but I do have
longer to wait for that to dry. I want to make the scales he used too.

I also have to add more "junk". When that's comlete I'll have to add "dust" to make it look right.

Bob

Looks like a good assortment of goodies that the rag man has already collected.
Do you ever have a lot of junk laying around your place Bob!
Your wife is going to be so happy now, that you have someone else to clean up after you.

I feel like listening to some Rag Time music for some reason now.

Got a little more "junk" added, made the spring scale Ralph uses to weigh stuff, and now have
Ralph himself perched in his seat.

Hey Bob, the wagon & Ralph look fantastic!
I can't wait to see Ralph's nag that will pull all these rags.
