Yes, Mark, it's winter but no coats needed. Stan lives upstairs but needs his hat in case
he steps out for lunch or coffee. Harry has a shop two doors away and he just puts on his hat
and skips over to the barber shop.

Did you ever notice in old photos, you rarely see a man without a hat on, no matter the weather.

Cheers,
Bob

Icicles.
Now that's not something you see modeled everyday.
Nice.

Oh Yeh, my grandfather would not lkeave the house without his hat. He loved the old Fadora, always had at least two one for work and one for good.

They are not completely dry yet, you can still see a little white but they are getting there.
I wanted to get the photos up because I will be busy later.

Icicles....................

In the past I have used many different materials to model snow, plaster, salt, baking powder,
and about six or seven commercial products. Recently I found "Snow-Tex" at an art supply
site and decided to try it as an experiment.

I wanted to portray the time after Stan had shoveled his sidewalk and opened for the day's business.
With this product you simply spread it on, I used a fairly wide brush, and let it dry. I did
sprinkle on a little sparkle as it was drying just because I like the look with sparkle.

Although it was drying quite fast I took these photos before it had set. I still need to make
Stan's snow shovel and do some touch-up. I will try to get some photos with the lights on then.

Here's a better photo of the icicles. When I see how this looks by tomorrow morning I may add more snow to the roof. That jar of "snow" is small (2 inches in diameter and about 2 7/8 inches high) and I just used about half of it.

The ice is great, Bob. I also love the way the bricks appear under the painted sign.

Schoolmaster, Bruce, Mark, and Frederic, thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

I did get Stan's snow shovel made and I think I'll let the model go as it stands. I'll get
some final photos taken today and post them later.

Chomping at the bits to get onto the next project.

Cheers,
Bob

Here's some final shots of Zimmerman's Barber Shop. I think I will let it go for now (I may
come back to it at some later time).

Chomping at the bit to get on to the next project.

Cheers,
Bob

[:-cold][:-cold][:-cold] ... I had to double-check and make sure the interior details included a radiator ... check ... okay, looks good! Certainly conveys a lot of mood and atmosphere in a wonderful way.
